There might even be some shouting in Vegas of the "That's a dumb pick, Zaleski!" variety.

Hey guys looks like a lot of players in this league, i was hoping to get some newbies.

Very happy with 11, i wanted 11 thru 15 so got what i wanted.I also like a happy message board, nothing worse then a dead board.

Happy to be aboard Vegas 3.

funny thing- my wife was standing over my shoulder as picks were coming off. I said something about this league and said you know Lance and Brian they both went to that game with us. She said now which one is the loud one and which one is the drunk one again? Both qualities will make for an interesting day. Good luck to you all.

Zaleski- I was in your neck of the woods this week. A week at the Anaheim Marriott I should have let you buy me a cold one....

[/QUOTE]But this one is so much more fun. How far do you live from there? I was very impressed with the area right around the stadium has changed in just the last couple of years.

I get in Thursday evening and plan on joining you all for some drinks.

Were the answers to that Brian and Brian? Lance handles alcohol quite well and is generous in giving it away as I recall. Perhaps she said, "Who was the loud and drunk one and who made the other drunk and loud?"

In all these years, your the only one I've seen getting shouted upon for picks. Sheets, Harden, Howard.....

You can make fun of me for my picks and then I'll make fun of you for your position in the standings all year*. Deal?

*Not counting when your reliever gets in for one inning of work in the A's/Sox game and gives up five runs giving you the 'lead' in the pitching categories for a half week.

Is it just me or is there an inordinate number of Carlos Zambrano fans in this group? You guys better start planning for how you will get him in the second round.

Half a day's gone by and Lance hasn't listed odds yet.

Here's the early line:

bjoak 6-1 (consistent finisher)

kjduke 7-1 (big jump in 07)

gillis 7-1 (has slid last 2 yrs, but mafia connection)

norred 7-1 (3 solid years out of 4)

zaleski 15-1 (laptop injury risk)

ruland 15-1 (hopes to rebound from bad 07)

turbes 30-1 (dangerous when liquor kicks in, but that takes a few rds)

field 6-1

Place your bets, gentlemen :D

I had so many thought running through my head on how to attack the first 5 rounds...I needed a nap...too many angles to consider.

I'm awake and sipping first vodka cranberry! I need to go into "assume that guy does NOT fall to you there...THEN who do you take" mode.

Jackass league full of thinkers! :D :D :D

I like Lance at 30-1. Word is he had a breakthrough while planning this offseason under the tutelage of Shawn Childs.

Also, we may find out that he got the lasik and put on 20 pounds of muscle since last season. Best shape of his life. :D

I honestly will praise Kenyon and Childs, and give them 80% of the credit when I give my write-up for the 2009 magazines on "How you won the NFBC"...seriously! :D

...but I'd bet Zaleski, Gillis and myself would be the best bets for "biggest cannonball splash!" :D

disappointed that you boys didn't get past one post on the fourth page. Was it the liquor or the laughs that got most of you last night? Probably wifey/gf types.

This will be one league to get a laugh from the posts for those of us in leagues where we might never get to four pages.

Greg set a 6-page quota before Vegas, we're pacing ourselves.

And I'm busy studying how many rounds early I have to take Zambrano - ADP says 6th, so to be safe maybe I grab him in the 3rd? :D

Now that Zam topic is closed, I can get back to figuring out how to win the $100K w/o a closer :D
