I'd still view Cabrera as a late first-, early-second round pick. He's just too talented to ignore even with the questions about his protectin.

I would view Willis as being a second-tier starter. If you have him as your No. 2 you'll be happy. If he's your No. 1 and you're hoping for a repeat of 2005 you'll be disappointed.

Like any prospect there's risk involved with Fielder. But I think he's a legit hitter who will succeed at the next level. I do have some concerns about how good he'll be defensively but I expect him to be every bit the power hitter the Brewers' brass is convinced he'll be.

I am confused on the Clemens question. If he has not signed he will not be on a 40 man roster. Don't all picks have to be on a 40 man roster?

agd, we will allow Clemens to be drafted. There will be unsigned veterans added to the 40-man list and we will provide that list at least a week before the draft. So Clemens will be eligible to be drafted.

Is Brad Fullmer still on the Rangers, if so does he have any shot at contributing?

A couple of answers to older posts (I just arrived).

Back in early January, I was the one that posted the 2004 & 2005 average scores in each category. It seems that all the posts from about mid-January are gone. Maybe Tom or someone can have them recovered.

Leaderboard is definitely around. They have evolved but they still are heavily involved in something called the Uber Wars in ESPN. There are 10 groups that form leagues in each sport. Each group assigns one person to represent their group. No person is supposed to be in more than one league. The competiton is strong. The Leaderboard contingent is about the only group that competes in the NFBC aside from a few scattered people from other groups like me. I was in group called "The Rat Pack" (TRP) but have switched into "Living Legends Elite (LLE). Right now no one else from LLE competes but I am trying to talk one into a satellite league.

Last news I heard on Fullmer was he was in the White Sox minor leagues. I wouldn't expect much from him ever again.

With the new rule change which allows you to replace a player placed on the DL starting on Friday: If it is my shortshop who is put on the DL can I move my middle infielder ;who qualifies at shortshop; to middle infield and bring a second baseman off my reserves?

Yes, as long as you have players who meet our eligibility requirements at a position you can make the move.

think you will get to the 22 league mark?

I don't recall where you were on Feb 1 last year but it seems you have more entries this season at this point in time.

We're confident we'll sell out again this year. We're way ahead of our pace from last year and with our first magazine now hitting newsstands featuring a huge write-up of the NFBC that's sure to get more and more people signing up in the weeks to come.

Boston's rotation to start the year. Will Abreu be traded and does Michaels really start for Cleveland or is another deal coming. Thanks.

1. Schilling, Beckett, Clement, Wakefield, Wells (until he's traded)

2. Only if the Phillies are stupid.

3. Yes Michaels starts -- for awhile anyway.

1. None of the depth charts I've looked at have the Texas OFs/DH the same.

How do you see that shaking out

2. Is Jerome Williams or Glendon Rusch going to be the Cubs # 5

3. Is Migual Olivo going to start at catcher for FLA, making Willingham a C/OF eventually

1. I think Wilkerson, Matthews and Mench see most of the time in the OF with Dellucci and Nevin getting the DH ABs.

2. I think Williams gets the spot in the rotation.

3. Hard to say. The Marlins say they're going to split Willingham between LF and C so Olivo will get ABs behind the plate and he could even be the starter on Opening Day. If it were me, I'd leave Willingham at C and let him develop there.

fortunately there are a number of weeks until we actually have to know these true depth chart. A wise strategy for the satellite drafts might be getting players who are firmly established in a position. A bigger issue could be the WBC and how it will effect players who are scheduled to be at new positions, like Nomar, and those who are not wanting to change positions but may be "forced to" like Soriano.
Kevin, you must be an accountant!!! We're definitely on pace and hopefully the best promotion lies ahead. It's been an exciting off-season of signups and like Tom said, our first magazine is just starting to generate new signups.
Investment analyst, Greg. Actually for a better analysis I would need to look at your yr/yr budget growth projections and timing of deployment, factor in a competitive analysis of high stakes lges, perform a demographic profile analyses of your customer base, look at the effect of growth in broadband internet usage over last year, and then overlay all of that with a macroeconomic and industry growth cycle view.

Or I can just call it up 20% over last yr.

Too good, Kevin, too good. ;)

One difference between where we're at this year compared to last year that you haven't figured in is we have a larger base or returning teams to draw from in the final five weeks. In 2004, we had 195 teams, while last year we had 300 teams. We currently have 178 of those 300 teams signed up, leaving us with a larger pool of players who know what kind of league we run. There's a greater pool of potential players this year outside of the new customers we hope to attract with our magazine ads and online promotions.

So in many ways, we're well ahead of the game compared to last year when I wasn't so sure we'd ever hit 300. This year I'm positive we'll hit our goal.

Now, about those 122 teams out there who haven't returned yet...I'll be calling you!! :D

perform a demographic profile analyses of your customer base Is there really any mystery here, Kev? Are you expecting to find it's black females, ages 14-28?

BTW, any relation to Justin?
