SAVANNAH, Georgia (AP) -- A mechanic with nine years in the Army, including a role in the assault on Baghdad, has refused to return to Iraq, claiming "you just don't know how bad it is."

Army sergeant refuses 2nd Iraq deployment lol, the guy has been with the Army for 9 years (doesn't that require choosing to re-up at least two times?) and has now decided he's opposed to war? Sounds like he's a mechanic with some real-world skills, why didn't he quit and move on?

GG, the story is weak at best and shows nothing other than one man is a coward, or at best an idiot.

DYV, I'll go further than that. This guy was 31 when he enlisted. Thats the cutoff for enlisting these days. So after not doing so well on his own he joins the army. He gets paid pretty good actually really good when you compare what Draftees use to get. So now its 9 years later and he's only a E-5? For those that don't know the military thats his paygrade. He was behind the powercurve on pomotions. So he was a loser before he joined and a loser after he joined. Bottom line he's a loser!
