ESPN Outside the Lines today

Post by viper » Sun Dec 18, 2011 7:54 am

The main story appears to be on the defunct World Championship of Fantasy Football. It has to be a rehash of what we all know but it may be interesting to see their take on this.

Not enlightening for us as high stakes players.
It may have been for those not familiar with the industry.

Do they reshow it? I missed it, but would like to see it.

I'd like to mention one aspect of the NFBC that I find refreshing as opposed to the ESPN scenes/looks at WCOFF's drafts.
Promoters know that most folks are influenced by celebrities and pretty girls, especially the 20-30 years of age demographic. WCOFF had celebrities and girls and I assume they were paid.
This, is in hopes of bringing in more folks to play.
I don't think it works with high stakes fantasy sports.
Players are going to play regardless of what celebrity appears and I highly doubt that a celebrity will 'draw' more folks to an event.

What outside folks need to know is that we just want to play fantasy sports.
The celebs are not needed and neither are the girls that ESPN seemed to focus on in camera shots.
Pure and simple, we enjoy each others company and at the same time, we enjoy beating the heck out of each other on paper.
Just my take.

P.S.- If I want to see girls, I can go to Glenn's thread or revisit the Ann-Margret thread, I'm good to go!
