Minor position eligibility issues
Minor position eligibility issues
Aubrey Huff is listed in the draft room at 1B and OF, but he only played 16 games at OF last year.
Also, I see that John Bowker is listed at 1B and OF. According to the rules, it seems that this should be one or the other, since he didn't have 20 games in the majors at either last year.
Note that these are the actual STATS draft room, not the draft board.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
Bowker had 2@1B and 2@OF so he should be 1BOF.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
b) If a player did not appear in 20 games at any position, he qualifies at the one position he played most frequently the prior season in the majors. Designated Hitter is considered a position for these purposes (pinch-hitting is not). A player who only qualifies as a DH may only be assigned to the UT position. If a player's most games played at a position is less than 20 and tied among more than one position, the NFBC commissioner will assign eligibility at one position only.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
huff started 15 games in the outfield and appeared in 22. hence, 1b/ of.
Re: Minor position eligibility issues
I have checked 3 different sources that list Huff's games played (not games started) at OF at 16. Can you provide documentation with respect to your number of games played?

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
Those were games he played in both LF and RF. If you check the MLB site, you will see that the correct number is 16.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
mlb is showing you games started. usa today and bill james handbook list games played. you have to add 9 in rf and 16 in lf to get 22 total games played in the outfield, 2011, by huff.
btw, if huff is starting in your outfield in a 15 team mixed...ouch.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
You can't add those, since some games he moved between left and right. The MLB site shows that he started 15 games at OF and played in 16 games at OF, 6 of which he must have moved between left and right.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
I hope Huff is eligible at of or one of my DC teams will be very thin at of. Even replacement level players can be very valuable in non faab leagues. Hopefully the Huff owners dont pay for a possible Stats eligibility screwup.
Re: Minor position eligibility issues
This is accurate, he should not be OF eligible. That said, he shows 1B only in my slow draft room.cfolson wrote:You can't add those, since some games he moved between left and right. And I stand corrected on Bowker -- the rotisserie rule book says he should be 1B and OF, I was unaware the NFBC chooses one position over the other.

Re: Minor position eligibility issues
To be exact-Huff started RF in 13 games: Mar 31, Apr 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17. He moved to LF in six of those games: Apr 1, 6, 8, 12, 15, 17. He started and finished a game in LF on Apr 10 and Aug 16. He started at 1B and then moved to LF on Apr 19. He played RF in 13 games. He played LF in 9 games. He played OF in 16 different games. Does he qualify at OF? Frankly my dear I don't give a ...
