Satellite League KDS Deadlines Extended

Post by Tom Kessenich » Tue Feb 21, 2006 6:02 am

Hey everyone, my apologies for the delay but we hit a couple of snags with some folks not having their teams loaded into certain leagues. Therefore they weren't able to set their KDS preferences. I have picked the initial draft order for all of the leagues we have filled on Feb. 28th and March 7th but we are going to extend our KDS deadline until midnight on Wednesday in order to give everyone a chance to set their draft preferences.

So if you are in a satellite league on either Feb. 28th or March 7th please set your preferences before midnight on Wednesday. We will then post the official draft orders for all of those leagues on Thursday.

My apologies again for the delay.

Does that mean the earlier postings this morning are not "set in stone"?

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

That's correct. The draft orders (pre-KDS) have already been picked so nothing will change there. It's just a matter of making sure everyone gets a chance to set their KDS preferences.

My apologies again.

:( - Bit of a bummer. I received at least 2 e-mails reminding me to set my KDS setting and I must have checked and re-checked the setting 4 times more to make sure I was ready for today's slot positions.

Seems to me someone should have figured out that not all teams had access to setting the KDS settings before we announced today as the "results" day.

Anyway, Thursday will be around soon enough and I can't get too excited since this was only for two $100 satellite leagues, not a bigger event...

Bummed a bit none-the-less. Was looking forward to today all weekend.

I was informed that the draft orders for the satelite's on the 28th were posted?

I can not locate them anywhere, were they removed?

I realize people are being offered more time to set their KDS, however if some teams have already seen the order doesn't that give them an edge?

There's no edge involved since the order for everyone picked out of the hat will not be changed. That is the initial order since it determines where everyone is initially ranked prior to using their KDS preferences. So no advantages are gained. Again, I apologize for the delay but we want to make sure everyone has a chance to get their settings ready for their leagues.

Gordon, this won't be a problem for the main event which is why we're working hard to perfect the system now.

I am competing in one of the satelite's and I do not know what spot I was picked out of the hat. I can not find where that information can be found. I know that other teams know where they were picked out of the hat. If I knew that information it could possibly change the way I rank the draft spots.

That is the disadvantage.

I'm confused...did the order get posted or not?? Why would some people get to see it and others didn't? Even if it isn't the offical order because of the derby style were doing. If you're going to post it we should all have the same advantage. The draft is Tuesday night and it does make a difference.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but this smacks of someone wanting to create a problem.

Having said that, a legitimate point is being raised here.

It's an easy job. The four satellite leagues will have their draft orders posted tomorrow by Tom. He has the random selections picked for each league and he will do the KDS tomorrow morning. All four leagues will be posted and you guys will have five plus days to prepare for your draft spots. No advantage for anyone and plenty of time to prepare.

Enjoy boys. The satellites are fun and you can learn a lot before heading into the main event.
