That I am Bud.

This has been one of my fave threads to follow during the signup season. I can always expect a laugh or two as well as being tempted to take part to help fill it. However, with this draft already at an amazing 11 signups with still over two months to go, it looks like it will go off no problem. Great job my friend filling this bad boy with all-star after all-star, each an east-coaster and each participating live. You said you could do it and it looks like you will.

Whoever wins this one will have certainly earned the title of First Annual "MTM" NY Metropolitan League Invitational Super League Champion, though it may be tough to fit all that on a trophy. ;)

That's all well and good, but if it comes down to one last owner at crunch time, you're in and I'm coming to get you for real!

So just a quick update for the 11 fanatics that are signed on already. I am currently working on perhaps having Scott Engel of RotoExperts, RotoExperts.com, and Sirius XM Fantasy being there and covering our draft live for the his show. Many of you may recall that he and his crew were there last year at Citifield covering the festivities. He always jokes on his show about Mahwah, NJ, and now that the NFBC will be there, I'm sure he can't resist the opportunity  I figured it would be great exposure for the NFBC and this unique, first time event that is sure to become a classic (mainly because I came up with it  ).

So who is going to step forward and make it a dirty dozen? 8-)

Coming soon this weekend: My new thread featuring all the reasons that drafting in NJ is better than drafting Las Vegas based on actual field research and other empirical studies conducted by me. Not to be missed. In the meantime, I'm sensing a bit of a lull here in the momentum after a great start to the week. Let see who has the balls to jump in this weekend to put us at 12 (or more  ) come Monday. And now some images to complete the "balls" pun:

Let's see some more women with balls...and please, no pictures of Lowy.

BREAKING NEWS, BOYS! Looks like we are about to add a bona fide, top notch, NYC competitor to our ranks at any moment. He sent me a PM last night to express interest, and I hope to make it official today :D . He did clarify that he is actually a NJ transplant now living in NY and working in the city. I was happy to hear that he was able to make it out of the slums of Westfield, NJ, and moved on up to the East side, to a deluxe office building in the sky...Sorry, stupidly bad reference, but couldn't resist. Don't want to give away who he is just yet, but if any of you can make him out in this old family photo I found of him, then you will know who he is.

CAN YOU SAY 12 AND COUNTING, BABY?!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Yes, I have made it out of the slums of Westfield...and my brother-in-law made it out of the slums of West Caldwell too! Greg, please count me in (I may have a partner with me on draft night too). Looking forward to a fun night and some great competition. Marc

Awesome, Marc! Great to have you on board. Us Caldwell folk rarely slum down in to West Caldwell, but happy to hear that your brother-in-law made it out of that hell hole

So we are now at a dozen LIVE competitors. This is shaping up to be quite the rogues gallery of the best the NFBC has to offer. Question is, who else has the mental and intestinal fortitude to hang with this bunch before, during, and especially after the draft? I'm throwing down the gauntlet. I want this thing filled and at 15 LIVE by this Friday the 27th so that I can start making plans for the party ;)

And no sooner do I post my challenge, that I get my second PM this weekend from yet another multiple league champion and top money winner in the NFBC who wants a piece of the action. He's a Jersey boy (go figure), and is due to give me confirmation in the next few days as soon as he clears his calendar with his secretary being the big shot that he is  He's sounds pretty pumped and ready to lay down a good old fashion Jersey beating on you boys...and you know how these guys operate. ;) He even went as far as to call Jupinka a fraud and Glenn Lowy a wuss for dodging this draft. Actually the majority of the preceding was completely fabricated by me in an attempt incite further interest in the league while also tweaking Glenn even more to put him over the edge. :P But the guy is legit and seems very cordial.

ALL OF THIS MEANS THAT WE ARE JUST ABOUT AT 13, AND POISED TO MAKE NFBC HISTORY! And all of you who have committed to the league thus far will be a part of it. :D

C'mon Glenn ............ end the suspense and jump in already.

You really gonna let The Mouth post pictures of you like a little furry creature and not
give him what he deserves? Redirect some of that Diamond cash to help the local economy!
We need to revisit Atlantic City 2011. It was a fun time, especially in season! ;)

Well put there, Sack. But Glenn is going to wait to be magic #15 so that we can all give him the extra attention and accolades that he so desperately craves. ;)

Greg,
I am proud to announce that I have just received a PM from none other than, Scott Fleming of Totowa, NJ. He's a hardcore veteran and top money winner in the NFBC and would like to reserve a spot at the party. :D He will confirm definitively on this thread later today or tomorrow, but wanted to make sure that he would get a spot in what is shaping up to be the premiere draft of the NFBC baseball season! Looks like we'll make this an annual tradition and have to bump up the $ coming next year. So looks like just TWO MORE to go!!! 8-)

Wow, good stuff Mike! 2X defending champion Lindy Hinkelman is not a man of many words but Scott Fleming was an NFBC player Lindy met for the first time last season and he had nothing but great things to say about Scott. While the league just got a lot harder, I look forward to meeting #13 if he will be drafting live.

Not even an update from Lowy? What's going on Mikey? I thought Glenn had radar when somebody dropped his name on these boards! C'mon X ............. we are waiting for you to jump into the fray! This is dubbed as the BEST of the East Coast! Clearly we need you to pull this off?

Et tu Sack? As if Massatto wasn't enough? ;)

While the AC 2011 drafts were a blast, bringing up the memory of chasing you two all season just to land in 3rd in our Main is not a great selling point. :? While yes, you can probably write off Massatto's finish last year to an "even a blind dog finds a bone" explanation :P , the rest of this "MTM" NY Metropolitan League Invitational Super league is way too tough for the donater likes of me.

In all seriousness, I'd love to test myself against this crazy competition, but that weekend's looking real tough for me to work out. Still, at the pace Massatto's attracting the sharks to this pool, it should be filled in no time.

Heh. Heh. Figures Lowy would respond the way that he did. Anyway, yes Ken, Scott Fleming will be there drafting live as soon as he commits officially hopefully by today. This draft (and night) is something to be experienced live and in person, and we will have 15 of THE BEST congregating at the draft table that night. 8-)

Yep, that's the way you become the best, Lowy...by dodging the competition! :? And thanks for all the accolades on my finish last year. Now I'm a dog. Nice. Really nice.

By the way, has anyone seen or heard from Jupinka recently???

Hysterical. Great stuff, Glenn. Just be ready to prep the wife, because as soon as Fleming makes it official as #13, we are just ONE away from you making it 15! And now in keeping with the dog theme, here's a classic of dogs playing poker...

Tom,
Please make Mr. Fleming feel more secure by putting him down as #13 for our little competition in NJ.

Okay, I am putting up a special mystery prize of great value for the next top-notch competitor in the East who steps to the plate and becomes #14 officially. Once this happens, I can re-double my efforts on making Lowy crack to get him as #15 LIVE to round this baby out! :D
