Okay, so on a non-Lowy or elephant testicles related league note:
I have almost gotten the final commitment from the soon-to-be official Assistant Draft Facilitator for the night of the event. Now all please keep in mind that though she may indeed lack any real baseball acumen, fantasy or otherwise, her particular skill set obviously lies in other areas which I am certain all of you can and will appreciate. With this in mind, I will attempt to have her there looking as least as good as this:

So who wants in to give us 14?

And in more league draft event news, Cory Schwartz of MLB Network fame (among other things ;) ), has informed me that he has been following this entertaining little thread of ours, and really wishes he could participate to show us that he's not just all talk and no action, but he's committed to Tout Wars that night. So unlike Lowy, whose most legitimate reason for not joining to date has been his unwillingness to potentially lose to people who are clearly out of his league, Cory at least clarified that he fears nothing and would man up if he could. He did say that there may be a possibility that all of us fanatical idiots and this event may be the feature of something he does with Mike Siano on their show. So that means unfortunately perhaps all of you may have to bathe for that night and keep the drinking to a manageable level at least while you're on camera. ;) That, and Roy Ericson will have to keep his pants on... but don't fret, Roy, there are other drafts for that.

NEWS FLASH!!! THIS JUST IN... I have just gotten confirmation from our 14th committed competitor!!! He sent me a PM today that he has been tracking this thread for quite some time now, and could no longer resist the allure of this elite, top-notch, totally LIVE competition. Let's all officially welcome none other than Nelson Sousa of Saugerties, New York to the show :D :D :D ! Another top-notch NFBC competitor representing the Empire State, Nelson is known for his prowess in the NFFC, and once I confirmed that this was a PPR league, we had him. ;) Nelson is a convicted felon in the off-season and is sure to lead the league in most offensive categories including nose hair (a little homage to Mr. Bob Uecker). And in a little perfect twist of fate, Nelson also claims that he is "good friends" with our official thread whipping boy, Mr. Glenn W. Lowy ( the "W" stands for Waffle). I will let him do the honors in welcoming Glenn to the league as official competitor #15.

So, Greg, please welcome Mr. Sousa to the party and add him to the list! The thread should now read "just 1 spot left for the MTM" even though we all know who that one is... ;)

Thanks for welcoming me aboard Mike. I figured you guys were looking for a donation so I decided to join. Should be fun.

Glenn has actually told me in confidence that he is scared of this league. I told him that I was going to join to help put him out of his misery. No grown man with any sense of dignity would allow to be heckled, made fun of and challenged everyday without finally giving in and signing up for this league. Just so he could shut up all the doubters. But, alas Glenn is cut from a different cloth or skirt. :P
Winning is not everything, but the will to win is.

Absolutely Masstto, Nelson and I are buds. A job well done getting someone like him into this draft as a tank full of sharks like this certainly needs a little chum. Please though, go easy on him. He's got a family. ;)

Welcome aboard Nelson! #14 means we can surely go forward now in finalizing this League!

Gotta continue the Lowy barrage:

"Glenn has actually told me in confidence that he is scared of this league."

You can't really believe him. He says this about every league, but down deep he is a shark! No man registering for a $5,000
and $10,000 draft doesn't believe he can win each and every draft he takes part in. It is all smoke and mirrors! He isn't afraid
of anybody! ( Cept maybe MTM )

Glenn actually went crying for help to Principal Ambrosius ( Doughy - I'm expecting you'll address this in the next Fantasy Camp when you welcome in "the lobbyist" ) about this thread where Greg is welcoming in the new signups.

OK Glenn, time for you to cut the suspense and Man-Up. We all want a piece of you big boy. Do the right thing! ;)

Well said as always, Ken. I am going to arrange it so that when Greg draws the draft order for this one, that it's rigged so I end up between you and my other favorite competitor who would just love to be sitting next to me for this draft: Stephen Jupinka. 8-)

You hit the nail on the head, Sack, on Lowy and his high stakes draft entries in Vegas. He is scared of me, no doubt, but we all know the real reason that he supposedly isn't able to join us Friday night in NJ...

Glenn, your problem isn't the lack of X's, it's the O's...as in zeroes for commitment, participation, reliability, and the number of league titles and the amount of money you're going to win this season. You still have a chance to redeem yourself with a shred of credibility intact should you get permission from your owner to let you off the leash for an extra night
on behalf of your manhood.  THIS LEAGUE WANTS YOU IN! So cut the whiny, faux fear routine and round us out at 15 today!

Just another update, boys. I am already feverishly burning the midnight oil working on ways to really spice this event up with a few added twists and surprises that I am going to work on further with Greg and begin to throw them out to you guys here for your feedback once we hit the magic number of 15 live for the league. So better be ready for this bad boy 'cause it's going to be a night to remember! :D 8-)

So boys, it appears as though Mr. Lowy, despite all of our best recruiting techniques and pandering to his ego, is going to stick to one or more of the following excuses that he has so lamely offered as to why he cannot possibly jump into this league:

"I am too scared of this competition". ~Glenn Lowy

"I do not want to donate any more money to leagues like this." ~Glenn Lowy

"My wife would kill me if I went given that she's already allowing me to go to Vegas the week after." ~Glenn Lowy

"Massotto, with your mastery at filling this league, you won't need my participation even though I promised it to you a year ago." ~Glenn Lowy

"You can have a few of the co-owners of the the other teams already committed to the league just split up because I suggested it and my suggestions always work best for everyone especially when it involves spending other people's money." ~Glenn Lowy

"I've been meaning to get a set of balls, and that just so happens to be the weekend that I will be going shopping for them." ~Glenn Lowy

"I had to hire one of those internet reputation restorer-type companies to help re-establish some shred of my credibility given how I have been publicly humiliated by you and Ken Magner in particular on this thread, so all my extra money is tied up in that." ~Glenn Lowy

"Quite frankly, I am waiting for the prices to come down a bit before I pounce."

I think everyone gets the point, so I will continue to forge ahead in pursuit of elusive #15! I did get a call this past week from one of the NFBC's top competitors and lifetime money winners, Rick Thomas, inquiring if he could jump in from Vegas to represent the First State, Delaware. However, in keeping with my commitment to having this be a 100% live competition, I elected to keep him on standby for now. He was very understanding, and looks forward to being able to become part of this elite league of competitors in future years.

SO WHO'S IT GONNA BE TO ROUND OUT THIS GROUP OF THE BEST IN THE EAST?

Mikey, though the rest of the excuses you listed may have been slight exaggerations on my (or more accurately your :) ) part, the one I took the time to quote is unfortunately a real concern. With my having made so many huge commitments to NFBC fantasy leagues already this season, I'm tapped out. I even had to sell my Baseball Fury baseball card collection just to afford to register in that $150 slow draft last week (the E-Bay sale got me the last 32 cents I needed to pay the fee :? ). So you can imagine putting together the funds for a Super I have no chance at cashing in seemed an impossible feat.

However, I have managed to scrape together a small sum by taking high interest loans from each of my loan shark in the making children. At the 50% interest rate I've managed to negotiate with them, I should have them paid off by the time I'm a grandfather. However, I still remain a little short and have no more Baseball Fury cards to help make up the difference. My last offer stands Mikey, $2,499.99 is as high as I can go. ;)

Glenn - welcome aboard big fella. Just got a whole lot tougher, but it will be a blast. All kidding aside,
wouldn't have been the same without you after all of the "fun" tied to this thread. You have a steak on
me in Vegas if you care to dine with myself and the two time Champ. ;)

Thanks Ken, it's a date.... you, the Champ, and your chum. ;)

I will admit the fun I had with this thread is the reason I ended up joining after all. It seemed like whenever I was reading one of its posts, a colleague who would happen to walk into my office at the time or my wife when I was home would be asking me why I was laughing so hard. :D

This thread also gave me the ammo to persuade my wife to let me out of my "at the time somewhat half-hearted, never expecting to be called out on it promise" to limit my NFBC travels to one weekend this year if that one weekend was going to be a very long one involving a flight out to Vegas alone while she stays home to manage the house and kids. :)

All joking aside, this is going to be a tough one, but one that I realized I couldn't pass up. I look forward to the challenge.

Sorry Rockit, while I apologize to Two-1st Name Challenged individuals everywhere, I don't see how it applies to you. While some in 3rd world cultures may use Rockit as a first name, Sauce is pretty much universally considered a last name.
