First Slow Fast 50 Draft Complete

Post by Outlaw » Sun Feb 12, 2012 4:43 pm

Thanks to Perry aka Captn Hook, for setting this up. and Tom/Greg for supporting it. It went off without hitch and we were done in 4 hrs and 15 mins. It was a blast, lots of chat back and forth, some good ole ball breaking too, but tons of fun. The last 20 rounds were done in like 1 1/2 hrs, picks were flying.....

Thanks again for all who played in this for a great time.... It totally beats the 25 day or more slower drafts....

I heard this went well. 4 hours and 15 minutes is INSANE!!! You guys were really cruising from start to finish. AWESOME JOB!!

Okay, should we schedule another one for Sunday, Feb. 26th or would a Friday night even work? Let me know and I'll plan accordingly for the next one. Thanks all and GREAT JOB!!!

My back is going to be killing tomorrow; the good news, I didn't have to go out for round 2 of snow removal at 7:00p I was out there at 5:25; I dodn't even know who I have from the last 10 rounds :o

4 1/2 hours is impressive. One of the reasons I stayed away from these is because of the estimated 8 hour time frame eating up an entire Sunday. I'd definately consider a Friday night draft. It would be interesting with an entire weekend to recover. :)

This was a very good draft.. Impressive how prepared everyone was. Only issue I had was there were no breaks at all. If we cannot have a break next time, I am out. I have kids. Going on auto is ok for 1 pick.. but more than that is just not happening.. and thankfully I didnt have any emergencies. We need 2 breaks.. 15 minutes each.. just so we can get our que built up in case of an issue.

Other than that.. it was great!

As fast as y'all went today I'd be inclined to think this style of draft could be completed under 5 hrs w/ any 15 guys that are dedicated to going at a brisk pace. Therefore having a few breaks is not too much to ask for imo. I disagree w/ the two 15 min. breaks tho, seems too long of a break just to get ur que in order. Wouldn't three 10 min. breaks or four 5 min. breaks spread throughout the draft be more useful in helping keep up? Just a thought...

I am looking forward to this next week. Is it like training for a marathon or a sprint?
Hoping the other owners will try to top the four and a half hour time frame just achieved today...
But I think the guy who took Whitey Ford in Round 50 was making a reach...

I concur, Alan. There needs to be a couple of short breaks. Same issue with kids as well. This still can be done in 4:45 in the worst-case scenario. If you are willing to sign up for an event that is projected to go six hours minimum, then having it take an extra half an hour to get it done in less than five hours shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

And it was an amazing experience :D . Definitely have hit on something here that is sure to be popular for years to come. It was the best Marcel rehab for me yet!
