Oh and don't tell anybody that I'm the official eye candy of the NFBC. The last thing we want is for MLB to hear that because that could be cause for them to nix the deal.

Greg and Tom, let me be the 1000th person to offer up congrats. It has to be so gratifying knowing that all your guts and hard work have paid off.

I appreciate being included in the thanks but the credit goes all to Greg. The NFBC (and NFFC) has been his vision and he was the one who pushed hard to work with MLBAM in order to help this event grow even more in the years to come. I'm proud to be involved with both of these events and everything we're doing from a fantasy perspective but Greg's tireless work has been impressive and inspiring.

We have a bright present and even brighter future within the fantasy division here at F&W and it's because of all the things Greg has done for the past several years, dating WAYYYYYYYY back to the first issue of Fantasy Sports Magazine to his putting his ass on the line within the company to form the FSTA trade conference (which has quickly become one of the strongest trade shows our company produces) to the creation and development of the NFBC and NFFC. Wow that was a seriously long sentence.

Seriously, we are very excited here about this development. If Greg and I have our way this will only be the tip of the iceberg. We have a lot of plans for the future for everything we do in terms of fantasy sports.

I remember hearing people talk about wireless applications for fantasy users and I was thinking (and later talking with other industry people who shared the same belief) that we were years away from that type of technology. It turned out we were years away but it was only 1-2 instead of the 10-15 we all thought.

The industry has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 5-6 years and the trade conference has definitely been an extension of that growth. We have an incredible pair of conferences now and it's a credit to the commitment and creativity of everyone in the industry that the conference has grown in direct response to the industry itself.

I would never take a week off because there would be too many e-mails and voice messages to come back to. I'm not that crazy (although this new BlackBerry may eliminate that problem these days).

Honestly, I'm the luckiest guy in the world and my luck is going to get better. I work for a company that has taken my ideas and given me the resources to make them work. It hasn't always been easy and our events are still a very small portion of our business here in Iola. But it's likely the fastest growing area of our company and I feel fortunate that I had a little help in that. The good news is that I have even more wild ideas for our growing fantasy sports division and I hope to get clearance to try these other expansions very soon, which would put even more on Tom's plate!

Life is good, but there's plenty of work to be done. This baseball event WILL get more prestigious and grow, and obviously I have some work to do in football. But this is a good partnership to grow on and it shows that 17 years of hard work and respect can pay off.

The golf course will call for me some day, but right now I'm having too much fun working everyday to take off. Besides, I know a few people are going to be buying me some Corona's in Las Vegas in three weeks and that really shouldn't be considered a work day. I'll be having too much fun running this event to call that work!!
