Feb. 19th $150 Fast/Slow Draft League Draft Order

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:08 am

Okay, this Sunday, Feb. 19th at 1 p.m. EST we'll run the second of our NFBC $150 Fast/Slow Draft Leagues. We've found 15 die-hard owners who are willing to sit at their computer for 4+ hours and draft 750 players in a timely fashion. This will be part of the NFBC Slow Draft League, with the only exception that these guys are drafting them quickly rather than over 3+ weeks time. God Bless them!!!

Here's the draft order for this one, through the KDS we ran this morning. There's a lot of good with this league, but a few heartbreaks at the end. You'll see shortly:

Okay, we led off this league with Alan Greenberg being pulled first randomly and taking the first pick. Easy enough.

Next up was Mike Massotto, who also had 1 as his first preference and 2 as his second preference. So we start out 1-2, pretty boring!! Here we go:

Ryan Carey was picked third randomly and started the fun by moving down to No. 11 as his first preference. Ryan becomes one of SEVEN owners who got their first preference in this league. Nice job Ryan.

KDS continues to work to perfection with our next pick as Justin Moeller was the fifth owner randomly picked and he also got his first preference. Justin wanted No. 8 and we'll seed him there appropriately. Nice job Justin:

The seventh person to get his No. 1 preference in this league was Nelson Sousa, who was randomly picked ninth but chose No. 6 as his first preference. He lands in the No. 6 spot. Nice job Nelson and good luck.

Our next participant had his KDS straight butter -- 1-15 -- and thus got the highest possible draft spot available. That was No. 4 for Bob Mazur:

Now it doesn't get as friendly because nobody in this league really wanted to draft from the bottom portion of the draft. That's interesting because even some of these guys in this league have had 15 and 14 high on their preference lists, but not this time. Getting the No. 9 pick was Aaron Smith, which was his 5th preference. Not bad.

We won't draft out the pain for these last four owners as none of them preferred being down at the bottom. Here's how it played out:

James Chontos took No. 12, his 12th preference
David Anthony took No. 15, his 9th preference
Mark Srebro took No. 13, his 13th preference
Norm Kent was left with No. 14, his 14th preference

Sorry guys, but I'm sure you can win from down there. It's been proven before. Good luck all.

Here's the draft order for Sunday:

Finally! A draft this season at the top of the rotation. This one should be interesting! Looking forward to another high speed torture session with Gekko and company!

Greg,
What's the verdict on perhaps just one short break at least? I heard that Duponte actually pissed himself during the last one trying to time his bathroom runs around his picks. No joke. But funny nonetheless!

Hey Greg,
Will we have access to the draft room today so that we can fill up our queues in preparation for the next round of high-speed insanity on Sunday? Last week we were able to and it was very helpful. Thanks.

No, we didn't set it up that way. The draft room will open at 12:01 am tomorrow. However, you should be able to import those rankings from last week's draft with our new Import Rankings tool. Check it out and use it. Hope that helps.
