Sure, if people want them. Should we shoot for Sunday, March 4 at 1 pm ET? We already have one for this Friday night. If so, I'll set it up now.Outlaw wrote:Greg- Are there going to be anymore Fast/Slow Drafts?

Re: Are there going to be anymore Fast/Slow Drafts?
weekends are terrible for me, I put in for half a day off to take part in the 2/19 draft, however if there is another Friday nighter u can count me in.
btw, as a person who has done one of these I'd like to re-iterate what Greg touched on - nobody is trying to set any land/speed records here and as long as u keep ur que filled and have some kind of plan goin in u will be fine. anyone (not named Marcel
) can do a draft like this. To be sure it's different in that checking names off is hard to keep up w/ so I recommend following Gekko's suggestion and dispensing w/ it. If u don't know the players, esp YOUR players (ones ur targeting) by now u better hope for a miracle against these folks. I watch the draft unfold and once a guy's been picked I usually just remember it, tho it doesn't matter once a guy is gone, he's gone...u won't see his name displayed anymore.
* if there are players that u want to make sure u track, say Yu Darvish b/c ur afraid he'd be hard to find then que him up before draft starts. Steve already talked about importing ur own rankings, so theres that too.
W/ regard to how fast u pick, I can't speak for Gek, but I'm not trying to put pressure on anybody. In yesterday's draft I had the last pk, so I had a group of 5-6 players I was looking at and was ready to go b/c I had 30 freakin' pks b/w turns so....most of the time I busted out 2 in about 5-10 sec's. I like to pick fast so that when I do have a tough time deciding and I take 30 sec's or so (everybody has a few of these, 'cept maybe Gekko) my fellow drafters will cut me some slack.
Also, to be perfectly honest once you get past 30 rds or so the cream is long gone, search for a diamond in the dirt all u will but at this stage of the draft the picks really fly. These drafts can be done WITH BREAKS in 5 hrs, easy. I predict next yr the NFBC will REALLY expand this Fast/Slow concept b/c ppl like to draft this way and they like NO FAAB, that = free Sundays (or at least 1 less team to worry about on Sunday).
so don't be scurrrred Tony Plush, hop in.................
