Am I the only one who can't get mdc to load about every 3rd time I go there? I was just in the middle of voting on the draft, and all of a sudden it went down faster than Gekko at a bath house.

The site is still unavailable when I try to log too. I'm sure they know about it and are probably working hard to correct it.

Last night a draft froze right in the middle for everyone. Great site but lots of problems.

I haven't had any problems, but when I've had questions they answered me right away...

I know they are committed to the NFBC and want us to have the best experience possible. Try writting to them at:

I'm not trashing the site or the guys over there. Just saying twice this week late in the evening, and twice today, I get the server not responding bit. For an extended period of time.

I've had several drafts that have had problems like the draft freezing up and not being able to get into my draft. I have emailed them about it and mentioned the NFBC and they assured me that everything will be fine for the NFBC. I would like to believe them but they also tell me that nobody else has had any problems so who knows?

We've had some issues with the site being down lately, and think that we have identified that problem. We try to have somebody monitoring the site 24/7/365, but unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way.

As far as problems coming up during the NFBC drafts.......we will have someone at the MDC desk ready to correct any problem that may come up. We realize that you guys pay a good chunk of money to draft, and will make sure that everything goes 100% smooth.

I can understand any worries that may come up from our recent issues; I'd be somewhat worried myself. But as I said before, we will personally see to it that the NFBC drafts go off correctly, and that every NFBC drafter has an equal, fair, enjoyable time at the site.

If anyone has any issues, questions, comments with the site, feel free to e-mail me at any time. [email protected]

Just logged on to mockdrafcentral and noticed we can't pre-draft our players anymore. Is this correct?

So instead of having my players I like already lined up for me, I have to rank them? Also, there's only 360 players for the rankings.

Unless my math is wrong, that's about 90 short of the amount to be drafted in a NFBC satellite.

Has anybody else seen this yet? And is so, what are your thoughts?

I AM PISSED! I had ranked about 150 players already and now I have to re-rank everyone becase MDC didn't think things thru. They obviously didn't consider the full impact of the switch regarding existing drafts/rankings in the system.

HEY GUYS - next time you do something like this consider the possibility that others had already spent a good amount of time pre-ranking.

Brian, I can understand your concern.

First, let me assure you that your rankings are not gone. They will appear in the live draft room, just as you set them the other day.

Second, I need to point out that this wasn't a capricious decision. It was always our intent to move to a new ranking system (based on hundreds of requests for it). We did have to rush a bit in rolling it out as there was definitely technical limit to how the old predraft functionality worked under heavy load.

The prepick queue was never designed to hold hundreds of players. When it was used in that manner by so many people, it revealed memory leaks that were causing intermittent server crashes over the weekend. This new mechanism resolves those issues and will keep everything running reliably.

Moving forward, we will continue improving this ranking interface to support unlimited players, easy player search, and other features. For now, just know that 1) it was necessary to prevent actual technical problems and 2) the old way limited people to 200 players, so 360 is a relatively big improvement.

To MDC -

(1) are these 360 players the only ones who can be preranked

(2) are all the players that were available before to be drafted still available. I tended to use to alphabetical listings by position a lot.

(3) what players have you added to you lists

Just wanted to say last night's NFBC $100 entry draft went off without a hitch. Thanks MDC and Greg/Tom for ensuring smooth sailing.

Agreed - Last night went off without a hitch. I also did a Mock Draft the night before and it too went off without a hitch. Well done.

I have a question for MDC which I will ask here...

I used my own player rankings last night. It took quite long to enter the data, but worked well for what I wanted to use it for.

My question is this: Can I use those same rankings for my NFBC draft next week? I "saved" them; but when I go to my team page for next weeks draft, the "manage rankings" page shows the standard default. Are my rankings really "saved"?

Thanks,

Pete

Pete Pete, I think the answer is yes. At least that's what Jason said earlier. I'll ask him for you.

I would also like to say thanks to MDC for running four flawless satellite league drafts last night. The revised rankings were a big improvement and the system just seemed to work flawlessly. It also helped to have 60 owners who knew what they were doing.

I'm hearing a lot of criticism of MDC recently and maybe it's justified considering the guys were upgrading their system over the weekend. But I monitored four drafts last night at once and had absolutely no problem, nor did the 60 owners. To an owner, I'd have to say each one thought the system was ideal.

Make sure you don't have other applications or Windows open when you're using the draft site. That helps. But I have no fears with the next six drafts we have lined up on MDC and I look forward to doing mid-season drafts on there as well. Good job MDC.

I had no problem with MDC last night. But,didn't we have the option of looking up players by team roster last year?(mid-season).Maybe it was a different draft. Thanks,Dave

MDC satellite drafts last night ran better than any mockdraft I have been in to date. The draft was perfect, server didn't slow down at all, like it had been doing the past few weeks. Everything was A+++.

My only complaint is to the other owners who CONTINUOSLY took the entire allotted time to pick. I know it is your perogitive to use the time, but we had owners taking 90 seconds in the first round, some in the top 8.

After becoming tired/bored with waiting an eternity between picks, I spent a long time chatting with Jason from MDC. I almost forgot I was drafting a couple of times. Must say he made the draft A LOT better for me. Had an interesting conversation and I wanted to tell him thanks for killing the time with me!

Keep up the good work
