I first played in the NFBC 2 years ago and ran into Shawn at the drafts for either a Super or an Ultimate, I'm not sure. I mentioned to him that I thought I was in over my head but thought I could hold my own. I may have been slightly mistaken. He didn't know me from Adam (probably still doesn't) but took the time to talk baseball and give me some insight.

I didn't get a chance to follow along today but couldn't wait to get home to read the thread. It did not disappoint. I'd have paid to read it.

Simply put Shawn, in my opinion you're the best fantasy (don't kill me Dough) Expert on the planet. If I could spend an hour talking about fantasy baseball strategy with anyone it would be Lindy. But I'd only do it with your permission.

while drafting in the recent fast-slow this past Fri nite I couldn't help but think this would be ideal for Childs. There is no one who knows the player pool as well as he does...if u bumped into him and just picked a random player, any ol Joe Schlabotnik he could tell u something relevant about the guy, triple a #'s, previous injuries, poss. PT, if he changed his diet he'll know something. More than that he can assign an instant price tag on the guy's worth and compute the likelihood he's around after round X. As he's stated himself, if he misses he knows where to go to get what he need later in the draft. Does he miss now & then? Sure. I myself warned him of that bum Jose Lopez but more often than not, he's right on the $$$

A person armed w/ that kind of rolodex in his head would seem to be the odds on fav. in a fast-slow draft. The ability to adjust on the fly, which is important in ANY draft, is magnified when ur expected to pick in 10-15 sec's. Not that I want YOU in any draft w/ me (MLBC's are quite enough thank u very much)...just sayin'

Good job. Have fun in the REAL sunshine state. AZ kicks the crap out of FLA in # of sunny days, which means bring ur sunblock carrot top (I can say that to him b/c I'm a ginger too, if ur not a redhead it's racist )
