As I said I have some work to do with ERA and Whip, but like any team, if i stay fairly healthy and with weekly matchup management i can tweak these players quite a bit. My hitting stats are off the charts, but then i did go heavy hitting for quite a few rounds before chasing pitching.

Re: Feedback on my team from tonights draft
Hopefully you have better luck than me .Trying to rotate 11 pitchers into 9 spots always leaves me making the wrong choice.Best of luck ,I will be curious on how many wins your team (not the pitching staff) ends up with.

On Teams where I have drafted Posey, the intent is to use him at CI possibly as soon as he gets eligible at 1B.
so, you want a catcher at CI
good luck w/ that

Always be closing.

outlaw, i'm not a fan of the team. i don't think the offense meets its goals even with you making it an emphasis. The SP situation will get u crushed in a 12 team format. sorry, just being honest. but, hey, i've been wrong b4. good luck!Outlaw wrote:Would love some feedback... one thing i noticed was quite a few unsigned players without teams were taken. Also after doing a few 50 round 15 teamers, these 12 team drafts felt totally different... As with the 50 rounders, plenty of SP late....

A gekko sighting! Where you been hiding, bro?

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Re: Feedback on my team from tonights draft
I think you have done a good job proving your point that your pitching staff is better than originally thought especially for not taking a starting pitcher until the 18th round. The only thing I will say is, you have several pitchers who had career years last year such as tomlin, nova, and holland but as you said, alvarez could break out and some of the others have some upside. I think if you look at the same stats of the other 11 teams with regards to 2011 and projected stats, you are in some trouble in the pitching cats other than saves. I think it was a bold strategy. Shuffling the staff throughout the year is going to be a challenge. I really was at a loss when seeing your team in the 18th round with no starters and 3 stud closers. If the staff you did compile comes through for you, I think you will run away with the league. For me, I like to try for the big prize. In a 12 team league with faab, you will be able to pick up some decent SP. But shuffling a lot of pitchers in and out will really kill your whip and era since you really don't have 1 sp that you can justify as consistent. Maybe I am wrong but let's revisit this mid year and see where we are at. Good luck again! No need to try to further justify your strategy. You stepped out of the box and made things interesting.
Re: Feedback on my team from tonights draft
I was trying to figure out how you got to 1300+ K's with those pitchers (which isn't enough), when I noticed it was the total for 9 sp and 3 closers. So even if your ERA and Whip aren't terrible, your K's will be. Like seeing a different approach, but robbing Peter to pay Paul and a half dozen other apostles does not seem like a plan that's likely to succeed.
Re: Feedback on my team from tonights draft
busy with kids, work, family. as i get older, more and more things take up my free time. this year, i'm scratching my baseball itch mostly with slow drafts. i did sign up for a main event (hopefully i will be able to attend). however, with my time limited, i have a partner this year. more of a team effort this year.Edwards Kings wrote:A gekko sighting! Family is most important. Hope the wife and kids are doing well.

Might we see a name change from Gekko to Atticus Finch?
