Im sort of up in air about my feelings on it Pancho-if you want the honest truth. IMO that team is terrible. You have 20 points in black holes with saves and stolen bases. The strategy of getting a closers from FAAB is one that 14 other guys share, so you have a 50/50 chance of getting one- to truly battle in saves that FAAB Closer needs to be your 3rd closer at worst your second. You also are looking at a one in stolen bases. You are also going to face middle of the pack points in whip and ERA if you run out all those mediocre starters. I am in no way criticizing your actual picks some I like some I do not but that will be the case with any draft- but your roster construction is horrible.

Couple other thoughts- I am wrong a lot just ask bjoak. I could be wrong. I would rather shoot you straight in case this was your warm up for the main event.

Chest

I really dont think ill be on bottom of SB, if patterson or upton get meaningful playing time they could account for a lot and i do have a lot of guys who will give me 10-20 range like giles arod erstad renteria and even shef

Are you drafting in the main event- if you are I would suggest researching what levels it took in the avg league last year to get to certain point levels and adjust your strategy accordingly. Keep me in the loop on how your team is doing- I hope you do well.

this looks like a team devoid of saves and steals. In the NFBC neither category can really be ignored unless that was your strategy going in. One maybe but both is a huge risk. Your players are good but the catgeory mix is bad. Closers will pop up on free agency but you will be bidding against 14 other teams. Assuming several are available at the 1st FAAB cycle, you will be spending 50% of your moiney then

Yeah i hear you -- ive always played in pt leagues so its an adjustment -- i was using the levels the guy posted earlier on as a barometer

but sb hr are concerns for me

I do feel i will kill in BA, R, RBI,W,K though -- era and whip are kind of x factors i hope to get lucky with some guys

im looking at about BA -13 R - 13 W - 13 - K 13

ERA 10

Whip 10

RBi 10

HR 8

Sb 5

SV 0

Would leave me at 95 -- right in the mix -- if i can make up 5-10 pts somewhere im prob in the mix

i appreciate your input though i have questions myself

I think your pitching really falls off after Liriano (love that pick). I agree with Chest, your ERA & WHIP are going to suffer if you run out all those medicore starters. I would have tried taking some shots at sleepers and/or closers in waiting with those last 5 pitching spots.

Liked the VMart pick, nothing wrong with taking him there...heck, I'd love to build my team around ARod & Martinez. Not so sure about the Shef pick...I would have went with a speed guy or middle infielder (which might include speed). Personally, I don't want to start my season with Renteria as my shortstop. Liked the Polanco pick...how late did you get him?

Curious as to what kind of feedback your leaguemates are leaving you at Mock Draft Central.

Good luck and I hope you keep us updated on how your season goes.

Coops,

Interesting to see you try and glean as much info as possible from Satelite Leaguers, you didn't enter one?
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

I got interested in the Satelite League opportunity a little too late. I was/am travelling for 2 of the dates and the other was full by the time I got interested. Won't happen next year.

I left the main event last year with no true closers. The one that I drafted was Borowski and he was hurt the next day.I did not really like him but I was overwhelmed by how fast the closers jumped off of the board. The wait and get closers strategy will work,But,it is very nerve racking. You rarely have a neon sign flashing saying this is the new closer.Just ask the people who bid $400 on Tyler Walker. My season worked out ok.I had first place as late as sep.21.But faded to third the last week. But,it does take some brass to expect to obtain closers during the season.

John, I actually agree with Chest, but what do we know. I am actually in this league with you.

Of course I am partial to my team, but the other teams I feel we should be "worrying" about are George's, Brian's, and I think Oscar's team is gonna be a contender as well.

I know we really don't have a clue, but all the other teams don't strike much fear in my eyes.

Should be a fun and interesting league. Look forward to taking that $100 from you

I actually posted my team on another thread, can't wait to see what is said about it! If anything.

Still not happy you stole Liriano from me. :(

Hey Pancho, I got a point for you right off the bat... you can't take a 0 in any cat. and you have yourself projected for a 0 in saves.

You are also going to have a very hard time getting a 5 in SBs.
