I was a little surprised how far David Wright slipped in weekend 1. It's like people thought he was going to pass away or something.
News from Rotoworld today, "David Wright is starting at third base and batting third in Monday's Grapefruit League game." If he cranks a hr or two this week, I can see him moving back into the 2nd round. Weekend 1 folks may have acquired him at a NICE discount

i didn't want to come off thinking i was trying to pump him up, but ya, if he cranks 2 hrs i can see him going late 1st in a couple drafts. i heard the new mets ballpark will be nice for right-handed hitters

first round? get real. he would have to hit about 6 homers in the next few days AND we would need glowing comments regarding his new health. id be shocked to see him do much of anything before this weekend that includes actually playing! which i think means his price stays the same or goes down.
try again! next....

I got him at the end of round 4 last week in a 12-team OC league.....love the potential value AND the walls moved in.

with rubes and danniemurph in front of him, 100+ rbis seems like a formality

100 would be on the higher end i think. i tend to be a bit more conservative. maybe baseline of 95, with the potential of 105-110 if he's healthy all year.

He went late 7.03 in one of my OC's on the 14th. I passed on him in the late 6th (already had Zimmerman and needed Choo there), he didn't get back to me in the 7th, but that probably would've been my breaking point, would've grabbed him there. It really was just a perfect storm of bad press timing; most of the worst news on him broke that afternoon, so naturally everyone overreacted and he dropped like a rock that night.
Not too upset on passing on him, love my roster there, it's easily my favorite team of the 4 I've drafted so far.

Wow that's crazy late. In my drafts I found myself wondering why guys like Lawrie are going in the 3rd round and Wright (granted with a bit of injury concern) is going 15-20 picks later. Maybe a bit of overhype????

Or maybe because Wright has not returned the value that he was drafted for since 2008?
