Possible free agent problem

Post by stool pigeon » Thu Apr 05, 2012 7:22 am

Hey guys. I have noticed that a player I was bidding on 3days ago has now been pulled, that's fine. He was sent to the minors. The problem lies that I still have a bid on him. That isn't fair to my fellow competitors that they don't have the chance to bid. I would be bidding against nobody. I would prefer not to say the player because I am gonna bid on him when he gets called back up in a week but something to look into to. I'm sure that it has happened with other teams/players as well.

Just wanted to give a heads up because this is a lot easier to fix now than to do once these players are placed on people's teams. That would be a giant logistical headache.

Your bid will not go through for that player. I will ask IT if that bid should just disappear or what happens on your team page, but it definitely won't go through.

This happens throughout the year when a player gets called up from the minors, maybe pitches during the week and then gets sent back down to the minors before Sunday. NFBC owners bid on them but the bids then disappear because the player is no longer eligible to be picked up under our rules. Same case here. These players have to be in the major leagues this week to be picked up via free agency. Thanks for the heads up and we'll make sure this is run right.

From IT: If someone already had a bid on the player, the bid will stay there (unless the user deletes it) but it will NOT be processed. The process skips those bids and moves to the next.
