FAAB Bidding Week 1!
Ok, it's week 1 of FAAB bidding, how much did you put on for Arrieta, the new White Sox closer Santiago, etc.? How about Bard? Since it's after 7 p.m. now, I will post this. My main guy to get this week was Arrieta but I only put in for him in the low 140s, we'll see where he goes. I also really want Santiago...

What I want to see is how much 2 saves and 1 win from Fernando Rodney is worth??
Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
Went after Barney as we need a second 2b badly...with conditional on omar infante.
Also went after Samardge and Rodney

15 teamer, i expect to see winning bids for santiago in the triple digits. some over $250 (for the desparate owners). rodney around $75
Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
i probably missed something with Arrieta cause i didn't even bid on him. can someone fill me in
Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
I'm in the mid-100s, low-200s and in one over 250, depending on need. Rodney, I couldn't see bidding 75, but he may get some.Gekko wrote:15 teamer, i expect to see winning bids for santiago in the triple digits. some over $250 (for the desparate owners). rodney around $75
Arietta, $0. Nice first start but not much comfort in rostering Baltimore starters.

to top it off Arrieta plays a pissed off yankees team this week . not looking good to me .
Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
people who lost bailey, thornton, farnsworth are DESPERATE. they've had a sinking feeling in their guts for a few days. rodney's two saves are like solid gold to them.KJ Duke wrote:I'm in the mid-100s, low-200s and in one over 250, depending on need. He shut out the Twins. Not even you could find a story line to rev up the engines on him.
Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
Fernando Rodney Dangerfield for me.....No respect, no bids
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
I would imagine that both Santiago and Rodney get some pretty serious bids. The average bid for Contreras last year week two was around 300.KJ Duke wrote:I'm in the mid-100s, low-200s and in one over 250, depending on need. I'd bet Arietta's bids approach triple digits in some leagues as well, even though they weren't for me.

I put in for Peralta as my next choice behind Santiago, where he was available at least.KJ Duke wrote:Aceves, Melancon, Peralta anyone?

Arrieta unfortunately is the new Jeremy Guthrie for me. Nice in a few spots, but I fear that AL East way too much. Maybe a higher upside, but I stayed away this week.

Sounds about right, Samardzija looked like the best available from week one teams, I think he was drafted in most 2nd week lges.Jeff Erickson wrote:Arrieta unfortunately is the new Jeremy Guthrie for me. Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
Tiny bid - I have three closers there, have other needs. Won't get him. But $150+ in the Main, and that might not get him either.Motorboat Jones wrote:How much did you bid on Santiago in our Satellite League, Jeff ?Jeff Erickson wrote:I put in for Peralta as my next choice behind Santiago, where he was available at least.KJ Duke wrote:Aceves, Melancon, Peralta anyone?

Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
Went high 300's for Santiago. Made $50 bids or so for Rodney. A few dollars on a couple of sleepers.
Have Thornton and Bailey in a lot of spots. Already got a good kick to the McNuggets so what's 300-400 dollars.....

Uh-oh, doesn't look like I'll be winning myself a closer anywhere.BK METS wrote:Santiago $441 in my classic

Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
I went big on Santiago in many leagues, but I have A. Reed to pair him with in nearly all of them also. Based on comments I read, it sounds like Thornton and Crain are the 7th and 8th innings guys, so if Santiago fails I'm guessing Reed is next.

Re: FAAB Bidding Week 1!
Did anyone bid on Morales or Padilla? How many Bard owners are hoping he moves back to the bullpen?
