Giancarlo Stanton was scratched from Monday's game against the Phillies due to left knee pain.
A little birdie tells me his knees (both of them) will be a problem all year long.

Giancarlo Stanton will attempt to play through cartilage damage in his left knee.Outlaw wrote:Giancarlo Stanton was scratched from Monday's game against the Phillies due to left knee pain.

Stanton, however, conceded that he may need periodic days off. The Marlins have already said that they plan to give Stanton games off from time to time. Stanton's owners will have to closely monitor his status going forward.
Only a matter of time before he gets surgery my birdie tells me.

Re: Stanton's knee's
If he has meniscus damage, he will get arthroscopic surgery. You can book that. Expect at least four weeks off.
I tried playing softball for a few weeks with knee meniscus damage. I was limited to playing 1b. One night I took a grounder, stepped on first while planting on the bag to whip around and make a throw to third, and next thing I know I'm flat on my back. My knee just collapse when I planted. Figured at that point it was time to get it fixed.
Now imagine Stanton trying to play defense in right field. I say surgery before June 1.
