Cliff Lee vs. Matt Cain

Post by Glenneration X » Thu Apr 19, 2012 4:22 am

In a year that's seen more than its share of starting pitching blowups already, it was pretty impressive to watch an old fashioned mano v mano pitching duel between these two aces.

I wish I had Cliff Lee on more teams, I wish I had Matt Cain on any. Well done by both.

Glenn in slow draft 32 I have both Cain and Lee. Unfortunately I also have Dickey and Kuroda on my staff. Two gems, two shellings last night. No move up or down in the standings....

I hear ya Bud. Consider yourself lucky though. One of the benefits to rostering these low WHIP, low ERA aces is how their great starts balance the inevitable blowups from our back end starters. Yours did the job last night.

Now imagine if your aces going yesterday were Latos, Morrow, or Garza and they were the ones whose stats combined with your Dickey & Kuroda back end starters. I think there would have been some movement in the standings then.

Good luck the rest of the way Bud.
