Live Scoring
Re: Live Scoring
You wanted examples. Stats in the Texas game have frozen in the 5th inning.

Re: Live Scoring
Offense not showing on slow drafts...don't know why i even bother looking. doesn't matter until next day anyway

Re: Live Scoring
I have to agree. We laid out a lot of money and certainly expected better scoring than this. Live scoring needs to be brought up to the high standard that the NFBC seems to demand in all other areas. And it needs to be done quickly!Money wrote:I don't like the fact that now you wake up in the morning and wonder if all stats are included in the standings. You have to cut, paste, copy and do the math to see if everything jives if you really want to be sure.Steel Lugnuts wrote:Pretty disappointing there is no one available to answer this issue all day...how long as NFBC been doing this anyway? I thought quite efew years, can't beleive there are these types of scoring issues still happening.
Not that big a deal as I'm sure it will be addressed/corrected eventually, just disappointing we've heard nothing.
Someone from IT should be monitoring the live scoring while live games are going on. This is high stakes fantasy sports. Just my opinion.
Tonight we have another issue and seemingly a new type of error. The St Louis vs Pitt stats were fine all night, but now they have disappeared since the game has gone final.
Re: Live Scoring
Agreed. This needs fixed. Specifically tonight, I do not see offensive stats loaded for one of my slow drafts. Pitching stats are there. Not the first time this exact scenario has occurred.

Re: Live Scoring
As I said before, we have all spoken up with the specific issues that we are having, but we have heard nothing from anyone on the tech side of things as to when all of this will be resolved so that it runs like it should. How many more of us need to complain? This is something that should be taken very seriously and not as some nuisance that we can all live with for now. I hate to be a complainer on here, but another day gone by, and more of the same annoying shit with the scoring. When we have it working the way it should?

Re: Live Scoring
Nothing like comparing yourself to a "free" site. I'm sure football is already tops on the agenda and baseball live scoring is somewhere down with "get root canal done." Which reminds me to eat another candy bar. My endodontist is way hot!! And she plays fantasy football!Tom Kessenich wrote:Thanks Dan. The stats from that Oakland/Baltimore game are being run now. That will be fixed real soon. As far as the doubleheader issue, I've seen that with other sites as well (happens on ESPN, for example)DOUGHBOYS wrote:

Re: Live Scoring
Our tech guys have been working on it. With regard to the slow drafts the issue there revolves around the amount of data that is being loaded due to the size of the rosters. As soon as we have more concrete updates Greg or I will provide them. But our tech guys are looking into everything and all of the information that's been provided both here and offline to us has been extremely helpful. Thanks to everyone who's helped with this.NorCalAtlFan wrote:Any update?

Re: Live Scoring
One fix has been made. Previous to today, if the application got an error when it tried to load stats, it would just stop completely, which is what some of you were seeing. Now if you keep the page open, stats will re-appear once the page reloads.

Re: Live Scoring
As Tom stated, thanks to everyone who gave us specific examples of what was happening with Live Scoring. The IT guys believe they have solved this, so let us know if you see anything differently. The feedback allows us to pinpoint the problems, saving us all a lot of time. Sorry we didn't respond right away Mike, but there was nothing to say until we finally identified the problem and solved the damn thing. I think we've done that now.Baseball Furies wrote:As I said before, we have all spoken up with the specific issues that we are having, but we have heard nothing from anyone on the tech side of things as to when all of this will be resolved so that it runs like it should. This seems to be happening only with Slow Draft teams and it's not happening with every team. We've figured out that it happens with teams that have a larger amount of hitter reserves than pitchers. We've changed something within the program to solve this and in fact now those teams might actually get Live Scoring faster than other teams. Anyway, we think we have this solved for the Slow Draft teams.
This was not an easy item to identify, but we looked at the teams of owners who were posting about the issues and the IT staff saw the similarities. So again, thanks for the feedback and thanks for helping us solve this.
As for us now turning all of our attention to football and saying sayonara to the NFBC software, nothing could be further from the truth. We have weekly NFBC/NFFC meetings and the guys are working on a lot of nice enhancements that you'll see shortly for baseball. The biggest one -- and the most time consuming one -- is the Live Overall Standings for our national contests. This is a major project that once it's done will be an incredible addition to our game. The Overall Standings will be updated on intervals of 15 or 20 minutes, so there will be some time delay to input all of this vast amount of data, but it will be a fun, fun feature down the stretch in these contests. There's still a lot of work to be done, but it's coming for the NFBC and for the NFFC. Just bear with us as we do all we can to make this feature work perfectly and as fast as we can get it.
We are also working on a mobile app that has some very nice features for NFBC owners. Again, it's going to take a little more time, but we are putting in a lot of work on that and making good progress. We should have a toggle for Set Lineup down the road too, but it's behind the other projects right now. You'll also notice a new feature soon that will give you a complete history of your FAAB bids so that you can double-check what you officially bid on players you got or didn't get. Coming soon.
So as you can see, we're working on a lot of good items that will make the experience better. And many of these features will carry over into the NFFC season. Yes, we're working on the NFFC now as well and we will have the draft room live next week and the first NFFC Draft Champions National Championship (slow draft) League started on Monday. It's all good over there as well, but not nearly as complete as the NFBC now. Keep working hard to win your leagues everyone and soon we'll have even more features to enjoy the national contests.

Re: Live Scoring
Thanks for the update Greg. The upgrades to the Live Scoring that you've outlined will be great enhancements. I know that everyone appreciates the update and the efforts to make this the best live scoring model in all of Fantasy Sports. You already have the best game, so why not the best Live Scoring!! Thanks Again.

Re: Live Scoring
Looks like live scoring has just stopped a few innings ago. For main event team. I try to reboot the website and live scoring and nothing. I really don't need to look at my pathetic team inning by inning but I thought you should be aware. Using an ipad2.

Ahhh, the 'ol double header stats...thx. I'd prefer not to have the stats from Dunn today (0-6)!headhunters wrote:the double players are for double header- sox, cleveland. live scoring has stopped for some games. perdroia had his stats erased on one of my teams. just weird.

Live scoring is not working for me so far today. I realize it's just one game, just thought someone should be alerted to a potential problem.

I really like checking the live scoring before going to bed. I don't like these constant problems with doubleheaders. Cannot believe it is so challenging to fix.

Re: Live Scoring
I have a friend in the NFBC. His name is Stan Kaye. I like Stan. He's a super guy, we share a lot of interests, and he's older than me. Believe me, that last one counts a lot! Just kidding, Stan.
Stan doesn't get on the Boards much, but he does have about 10 teams in the NFBC.
I run the Pre-Mature E-Draftulation League that starts drafting the minute the current season concludes. Stan has been a part of that league since it started.
Each year, Stan asks me if we could move the league to CBS. Now as said before, Stan has a lot of interests in the NFBC and on top of that, he has a few other leagues.
The reason why Stan wants us to move to CBS is because of the poor live scoring at NFBC.
Stan likes to watch his live scoring during hot summer nights. Not his tv. Not other sites on the computer. Just live scoring. He enjoys it.
But, his enjoyment is stifled because of the problems that often arise with NFBC scoring and he'll prefer the CBS scoring.
There are a lot of 'Stan's '. Folks that just want to see how THEIR teams are doing, not necessarily what Major League teams are doing. It used to be that live scoring was thought of as a 'throw in' for the customer. It's a lot more than that. For Stan, it is a night of entertainment. For others a swell way to check in on how their teams are doing.
Bells and whistles that follow later will be wonderful. For now, there are a lot of folks that just want to KNOW that live scoring will be working everyday.

Re: Live Scoring
I don't check it very often until the end of the night. Caused me way too much stress a couple years ago refreshing live standings every 30 seconds. Wasn't healthy or good use of time. I do like to check it after my picther gets bombed to see what the damage is so I can sort of put it behind me and move on.
