3B Chris Davis' Win ??
Does it officially count ?
Re: 3B Chris Davis' Win ??
In the record books, yes. In the NFBC, no.

Tell you what, I'll give you the Davis Win, if you also take the likely ~.150 average that your pitchers will put up on the season in a good amount of AB's.Motorboat Jones wrote:I figured it didn't, but I wish it did !!

I'm with you...it would add a bit more strategy to picking NL pitchers, though

The last position player to get credit for a win in the Al was Rocky Colavito in 1968,his last year in the majors . He was finishing up his career with his boyhood idol team, the New York Yankees, after many great years, mostly with the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers (had brief stints with K.C. A's,White Sox and Dodgers.)Many considered him to have one of the best throwing arms in the game.I personally watched him throw out runners going from first to third with laser beam strikes on the fly and be dead on accurate
. Even the fastest guys in the game would think twice before challenging his arm. While playing in the minors in the PCL, he once threw a ball from home plate over the CF wall, a distance of over 436 feet
.
