choke up on the bat guys!

I can't believe so many hitters refuse to do this when they are striking out at such a high rate. You got guys with no power that still strikeout frequently.

Nothing good can happen if you don't put the ball in play!

This is the big leagues. Choking up doesn't improve your chances of putting a ball in play. These guys can handle the bat just as much with two fingers off than with two fingers on. They do it every day. It's the approach, not the grip.

Joe Mauer "only" has 30 strikeouts, and is hitting .306

He also leads the league in GIDP.

I bet there have been a few times when the Twins would have preferred a K if he is gonna make an out.
