Compete Against Greg Ambrosius This Week At FanDuel.com

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:02 am

Okay, we've had some fun with our first two weeks of the NFBC/FanDuel.com daily contest, but this week we're going to give even more incentive to join the fun. Now you CAN BEAT ME and win money!!! I'll jump in this week and compete in a new $10 contest and if you beat my score you win your $10 back.

We'll limit this to the first 120 players, leaving it open to just NFBC players through Friday morning. If your score beats my score you get your $10 back. We'll pay out the Top 11 places overall this way:

1st $300.00
2nd $200.00
3rd $150.00
4th $100.00
5th $70.00
6th $50.00
7th $40.00
8th $30.00
9th - 11th $20.00

Here's the link to this week's Beat Greg Ambrosius contest:

https://www.fanduel.com/NFBCBB?t=MEDIA_NFBC

You have until game time on Friday to enter your team and lock in your roster. Ten Bucks. Who want a piece of me this week? Should be fun.

I haven't been tempted by the daily games until now, but THIS IS IRESSISTIBLE!

COUNT ME IN!

Why? because I can't lose. Why not? Because I'm up against Greg... And he loves the BREWERS! And I know he will man up and draft a few of the Brew Crew for his team! Hey Braun! Hart! How you gonna like facing Chris Sale this Friday night! Love it.

All Aboard! Let's take Greg to the cleaners!

Bring it on!!! For the cost of a Corona you get a chance to make me look foolish. That should be easy to do, right?

So Greg,

Are you going to have the COJONES to start a couple BREWERS against a 160-lb pitcher who was playing for Florida Gulf State University two short years ago? Or are you just a fair-weather fan?

And will you PLEASE post your lineup shortly after the deadline to afford us what surely be some mocking opportunities?

It's impossible to be fair weather in Wisconsin. I've been a Brewers fan since they arrived in 1970, but this is a tough team to get all wrapped up in. No Brewers for me, especially since we have Sale on our first place LABR AL team and want him to do well. And yes, I'll gladly post my roster afterwards. I'm getting some feedback from some veteran FanDuel players to help me set my roster this week so that 119 people don't all get free entries!!! I don't mind losing a little money for FanDuel, but not the whole enchilada!!

See ya on Friday.

I have to figure out how to play this one: Do I try my best to beat all of you guys who are smarter at this than me. Or do I leave myself some leeway to let you guys do well and say I was just helping you guys out? NAH, I'VE GOTTA BEAT YOU GUYS!!

Give it your best shot Bob. I think I've got this one figured out...without any Brewers in my lineup. This should be fun and if I do well we'll do it again next week. If not.....well, it was fun. ;)

Okay, we filled this contest up with 111 owners. FanDuel is paying back $1,000, which is a fantastic payback. I have no Brewers in my lineup tonight, which looks like this:

P: Cliff Lee
C: Salvador Perez
1B: Albert Pujols
2B: Jeff Keppinger
3B: Ryan Zimmerman
SS: Jose Reyes
OF: Jay Bruce
OF: Justin Upton
OF: Josh Hamilton

Good luck to everyone. Hopefully I won't lose to all 110 of you!!! Should be fun tonight. I'll be watching live scoring now.

Don't worry Greg. I got your back.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

If you didn't get Cliffy out of your lineup you probably DID lose to all 110 :o

I'll ask them how they're going to work this and post the answer here soon. They're probably still shell-shocked that I was so bad!!

Okay, the NFBC members who signed up for Friday's contest have been given their entry fees back. Nice job all. Of the 10 people I beat, none of them were NFBC owners!!! The good news is that they are willing to do it again this Friday despite my struggles, so look for the new link next week and I expect all of you who beat me to jump back in. It's good fun if nothing else.

Check your accounts and if we missed any NFBC players, let me know at [email protected]. And we'll do this again on Friday night, so come prepared. I know I'll be better this week.

Despite losing money on me last week, the good folks at FanDuel.com are willing to sponsor another Friday night tournament against yours truly. The terms are the same as last week: Sign up through the NFBC link for Friday's $10 contest and you get your $10 back if you beat me. You have to use this link, though, so make sure you do:

https://www.fanduel.com/NFBCBB?t=MEDIA_NFBC

Okay, let the fun begin. And this week I better watch the weather report before games start on Friday night.

Greg is going to be on his A-Game this week. My guess is he's becoming best friends with the local weatherman as we speak and determined to prove last week wrong.

Gosh, I'd really like to play and I was able to add my ten dollars but it seems I am not signed up for the actual game. I think maybe I have to enter my players to be signed up but when I try to add someone to my roster and I click 'add' it just sends me back to the top of the page and the player has not been added. Very frustrating! Where do I click to buy into the game? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Only 7 entries so far? I thought you guys filled in previous weeks. Maybe people think there is not a new contest this week because this thread is dated June 19?
