Carlos Santana

Anytime this stiff wants to hit one over the fence will be fine by me. His production thus far makes Rod Barajas look like Babe Ruth. Another 0-3, 2k night. What a bust, sick of his ovverrated peripherals. He has not hit a home run since getting hit in the head. I long for the pre- Roger Godell days when we referred to concussions merely as getting "dinged," or "having his bell rung," or my favorite, "having his cob webs cleaned." Brilliant. Apparently, the recovery time for this concussion stuff is not on the same time line as a pulled hammy as Morneau, Brian Roberts, et al can attest. Is Santana's performance just skill-related, luck-related, or concussion-related? Although, I'm starting to think this is concussion related, whatever the case, I am offcially putting Santana on my whipping-boy list, or at least to the "bell rung" bust list.

I'm calling you out Santana, LET'S GO. SHAKE OUT THE COB WEBS. STEP IT UP. NOW.

Well, if I dropped him then I wouldn't be abe to bitch about him. And what fun would that be!??!

It's like a fantasy relationship....you draft the guy and there is excitement, you chose him, there is a relationship, his stats are my stats, i made a commitment to him. This is MY guy. You dream of the future together and the stats yet to come. Then the glow fades, the warts start showing, the contact % becomes actual Strikeouts and O 'fers. The power is nonexistant. You begin to think the guys who wait to draft Catchers are the smart ones. You try to stay patient. Exercise excruciating patience. This is just a slump. His numbers will be there in the end. More O'fers, more K's. Did I miss something on this guy? He's 26. Batting clean-up? Hit 27 HR's last year? Damn, it's late June. Another 0 for 4. God, you suck! What was I thinking drafting you in the SECOND round. What a waste. I could have had Hamilton. If you go on a HR tear I will forgive you. The glow slowly turns to HATE. The O'fers make me laugh. I laugh now when I hear people mention his "eye," his walk rate. Brilliant. YOU SUCK. And I will carry my resentment into the draft next year and pass on him when he has his inevitable career year. TYPICAL. Fantasy Baseball. Can't live with it, but can't live without it.
