Yu = currently the 30th ranked pitcher (8th rd pick by KJ, shocking MTM in the first slow draft of the season).

Ubaldo = currently the 125th ranked pitcher (9th rd stud "who will have a much better season", selected by MTM).

30th ranked pitcher = 7th rd equivalent
125th ranked pitcher = 23rd round "value" :P

Second half comeback or check's in the mail, Mike?
I will go with the 'check's in the mail' option. My U blows. :x You have no idea how many times I just wanted to send you the money after one of his shitbag starts. Major disappointment. :x Thankfully I have the good Yu on a couple of different teams. Many early round pathetic under-performers this year. :( Although your last place prediction for me in the $375 will not even be close to being correct (and that's with all my injuries). Good luck the rest of the way, KJ. At least I can cover this bet easily with all the money that Dobies is going to end up owing me at the end of the season.

Steve...such a lousy 6 weeks or so for me...hoping return of Kemp, Markakis and Bonafacio can help kick start my offense. I got YOU in my sights!

I agree, great job so far by the unholy duo of Magner and Anthony. Tough group of players to be ahead of in the standings. Keep up the great work so far guys, we'll all have you in our sights the 2nd half. :)

WOW, the NY Metro Invitational is shaping up as one of the wildest leagues in the NFBC this season. Kudos to Mikey the Mouth for organizing this annual East Coast powerhouse and like a good host he's letting someone else win while he serves the drinks!! But check out the potential money finishes with two days to go:

Well the dust has settled, the smoke has cleared, and the carnage (for me at least  ) has finally ended as the inaugural season of the "MTM" NY Metropolitan Invitational League Super has come to a close. And I have to say, that it lived up to all of the hype and then some given the competition level in this league with some of the best of the best in the East that the NFBC has to offer locking horns. In the end, it was all decided on the final day of the regular season as Marc Perlmutter and co-owner, Neil Marantz's club, Higgs Boson, nudged out Kenny Magner and Joe Anthony's, Sack of Crumbs squad by a single point! (Mostly in part due to some questionable roster management by Scott Fleming in his decision to give Dice-K a start versus the Yankees in the waning days of the season   ). Mr. Fleming has subsequently been unavailable for comment or is in hiding, one or the other. Incredibly the lead in this league shifted almost on a daily basis over the last couple of weeks, and the top six finishers were separated by a mere six points. In true irony, after all of the insanity in the monumental efforts it took to pull this league together, especially in the weeks long drama in attempting sway Mr. Glenneration X himself, Glenn Lowy, to not puss out and to round out the 15 we needed as he had originally promised to do, it figures it would be Mr. Lowy sneaking his way into the money at the very end as the third-place finisher. And for yours truly, when the doorbell rang yesterday and it was the UPS man delivering on to me a package of two strangely familiar sections of spherical flesh, I came to the harsh reality that it was my ass being handed to me! :x  The only saving grace in all of this is that I had the pleasure of bringing up the rear (no pun intended) finishing tied for last place with Dave Deterra who shared my misery in an equally large debacle of a season. The both of us drafted next to each other out of the 14 and 15 holes respectively, and were both summarily bitch slapped by Murphy's Law back into the Stone Age. :(

But overall, I think all involved had fun...okay maybe not Grandpa Joe Thelen who rumor has it had to be admitted for psychological observation and medicated to put him into a more relaxed state following six months of progressively popping a gasket after being forced to draw live for his draft position the day of the event rather than getting a few months in advance to plan his strategy which undoubtedly would have improved upon his 11th place finish. But regardless, the MTM Super will return in full force in 2013 better and brasher than ever at a live venue in the New York Metropolitan area as yet TBD. At that time we will be presenting the mega league champion trophy that was unveiled at the live event last year in Mahwah, NJ only this time immortalized with the names of our first season's champs. Hopefully all of you will be there in attendance to roast and congratulate the winners, console the losers, and to talk as much trash as humanly possible in advance of the 2013 draft. I am counting on the majority of you coming back to defend your honor and to improve on this year's less than satisfactory showings. Please let me know your intentions early, as I am planning to not go through what I did last year in an effort to recruit the best of the best in the game to show up and compete. This league has gotten a ton of attention, and I already have a waiting list of owners itching to get a crack at the action, but all of you have the right of first refusal as returning league members. So the sooner you can let me know, the better, so that I may plan accordingly without having to be under the gun. Thanks again to all for the amazing competition. Truly a great bunch of guys, too, even Roy Ericson. Enjoy the off-season, fantasy football, hockey, basketball, Nascar, or whatever, while I will continue to immerse myself in baseball from now until draft day. Perhaps I will have it figured out by then.

Lowy, unless you want that "previous commitment" to be with the hospital after a visit from some of my people, I suggest you making an adjustment to your calendar.
