Maybe I'm not getting it.
Each team only knows that one team above them got a player. That's all. If you are team 4 and you know team 1,2 or 3 took a certain player it helps you narrow down there team. Picking at 1 or 15 a team has no chance to ever narrow a player down. In 2 rounds they pick first and in the other two they have 14 teams ahead of them. Not a big advantage but it could help with future decisions.

You're right, not that big of an advantage.
I do think it is more fair to everybody not to release that info.

I do think it is more fair to everybody not to release that info. A specific example is if Shawn tried to take Dutch Leonard in round 5. He would know that we have Dutch and we wouldn't know that he had that information. That's a potentially big advantage. In any case that's a discussion for the next draft. Don't want to muddle up the exciting conclusion of this draft by debating this.

I'd like to rerun this league back again with the same 15 players if possible. I'll need to check with Todd to see if he will handle the updates. I'm thinking we can start on October 22nd. I'll try to find everyone's E-mail address to get the ball rolling.

Re: All Time Draft Thread
I'm definitely in to do it again, and if Todd wasn't in I could probably handle the sheet like I did with the second draft last time.
Are you thinking of doing the exact same time frame, or mixing it up a bit to keep things fresh?

Re: All Time Draft Thread
I am definitely in again. Great draft.
Let's tweak the years to keep it fresh. Last year we did 1941 through 2011. Maybe this time we should go 1962 through 2012.
Let's also pay the top 3 this time.

If you don't get all of the previous owners back, I would be willing to be on a waiting list. Let me know.

OK Just remembered that there were actually 2 different all time drafts, I was in the second one for 1941 through 2011, but not the first one which covered all years. Let me know....

One request, I'm on a new computer and have lost all the data from the last draft, I would appreciate it if someone could send me the final rosters and standings from the last draft.
Thanks, Russel

Something came up to squeeze my time. I never sent out an E-mail to the owners. I still would like to do this and I'll put it together at some point in the next few weeks. Sorry for the delay.....

Re: All Time Draft Thread
Has this idea been shelved? I'd be interested if we try it again. For those that did the 1941-2011 draft, starting with 1961 might not provide enough of a difference. Only 40 of the 345 picks (27 hitters and 13 pitchers) were selected from 1941-1960. Moving it up to start in 1970, or 1973 (start of the DH era), or even 1982 (after the 1981 strike season) would make for much different player selections and allow selection of guys most of us actually saw play! Just a thought. Keep me in the loop. Thx

Re: All Time Draft Thread
As another idea to mix it up (maybe too much?)... I personally think the value of the All-Time Greats versus the One-Year Wonders should be greatly enhanced by selecting stats from TWO years for each pick. Can't decide between Barry Bonds 73hr or .370? Have both! Need SB's? Grab TWO years of Vince Coleman! But can you take the double hit to BA, HR, RBI?... Want ARod at SS, but his stats from 2007 as a 3b? Bingo! But which year do you take for SS? And who will grab John Smoltz as a starter AND closer? And which roster slot will he fill? 24 wins, 45 saves, 350 k's! Just tossing out ideas to keep it fresh.

Re: All Time Draft Thread
Fool -- no way. MUCH too complicated. One season per player.
If you guys want to do a historical draft again, I am in. Last year's draft was a lot of fun especially when you consider the lower entry fee. We are certainly in the "dog days" of fantasy drafting, especially if your football teams aren't doing well. And we are still about 4 months away from the 2013 baseball drafts. If we are going to get this done, let's get it done.

Re: All Time Draft Thread
I'd still be in, even with Brad's selection for doing two different seasons. Time certainly running out though to get it together.
