A Get Well Card

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon Oct 29, 2012 5:55 pm

Not everybody reads my 'stuff', so I wanted to let everybody know on the top line here what is going on with one of our friends.
Doctors diagnosed last week that the six year old daughter of Roger Martin, know as 'Rog' on these Boards had tumors in her brain and needed brain surgery.
The surgery was performed today.
Roger's daughter, Mia, had two-three tumors removed. The surgeons think that the tumors were benign and hopefully tests during the next few days will verify those opinions.
In the meantime, surgeons are calling it a complete success.
She is not out of the woods, but hopefully well on her way.
We'll continue to hope for a quick and healthy recovery for Mia and best wishes to the Martin family.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Best wishes. That is definitely not something anyone should have to deal with, especially not a child.

Don't know the guy but let's hope for great outcomes with these medical procedures. Nobody should have to see their little ones go through something like this.

Special wishes from all of us here at STATS and the NFBC Roger. There's no way our kids should go through these troubles so early, but hopefully all works out well. The update sounds promising. I know from personal experience that the kids can handle these hurdles better than the parents and the kids come out stronger for it. Hang in there and we'll keep Mia in our thoughts and prayers. You know you have MANY prayers coming from NFBC folks and the power of prayer works. Continued good luck here.

Roger,

Thanks for the evidence that prayers can be answered. My family is extremely happy for your family, especially your daughter. I know you are all in for a great Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Continued best wishes.

After we got the call on Wed. saying she didnt need a second surgery,we got another call last night with the doctors saying that after sleeping on it that they were not comfortable with leaving the unknown area in there. We have to go back up thursday for a second surgery.I want to thank everybody for their support for my daughter. I do honestly believe the doctors have her best interest in mind here.
Kind of crazy today she is jumping around singing, laughing have a great time, already acting like herself. You would never know she just had major surgery 12 days ago.
Thanks again everybody,
Mia Martin and family

I hope this is the last time I report on this.
We are home now ,we were at the hospital at 5:30am thursday and home by 2:40 Sat. (for her 2nd surgery)just amazing.
The doctors removed the 2nd area and it was more tumor and still benign.
I want to thank everybody once again. The power of prayer and support was very evident here.
THANK YOU ,
MIA and the Martin family

A relief for everybody, Roger.
We're all so happy that this had a good ending and hope this is the last time Mia will have to have an extended stay in a hospital for a long, long time.

I want to commend you, Roger, for being thoughtful towards your family in your position as a father, and at the same time being cognizant of an e-mail draft that continued during Mia's problems.
Well done, you handled everything like a Champ.
