That could add to this impressive list. Stay tuned.

Thanks all. Here's the tentative list as of Thanksgiving:

NFBC DIamond League
Bellagio, Las Vegas
Saturday, March 23, 6 pm PT
1. Dan Kenyon & Andy Nolan
2. Mike Massotto
3. Scott Fleming
4. Scott Keikoan
5. John Lemke (tentative)
6. Chad Schroeder (tentative)
7. Glenn Schroter
8. Andy Robinson

Now I wonder why that could be, hmmmm?   Keep 'em coming boys! This one is going to be one to remember. 8-)

Well since it's such easy money, Mr. Hammerhead, why don't you jump into the tank with us guppies? Should be no problem swinging it with all that money you've piled up over the years taking us all to the cleaners. Put up or shut up, my friend. Would love to face off against a true legend in this game. ;)

THE CHAMP IS IN THE HOUSE, BOYS! Looking forward to competing against you in person for the big bucks, my friend. 8-) 8-) 8-) I think the competitors in the "other" Diamond are fast becoming green with envy as this one continues to pick up steam and gain popularity. Sorry no stiffs in this draft, that includes you, Tyrer.

Jim Ferrari is already in the first Diamond League, but he can't resist all of this smack talking in Diamond 2!! He's grabbing a spot in this one as well, bringing us to 10 owners who have requested a spot on Saturday night, March 23rd. I still have a few phone calls to make as I think a few other owners may have a hankering for this Second Diamond!! Stay tuned as we're getting closer with each passing day. Nice job all.

Perry,
Advance tickets for this event will go on sale at the box office and on-line sometime in December, but I'm not sure we can comp you, so unless you buy into this event yourself, you may miss out on the festivities. So keep working on your Mastersball buddies to take up a collection or something on your behalf to sponsor you, the industry big shot that you are.

Now we're making some SERIOUS progress on this Second Diamond League!! Rob Silver and Will Tyrer are both in the Sunday Diamond League, but this one just looked like too much fun to ignore. Both have jumped into this league as well, bringing us tentatively to 12 owners. I think there's at least one other owner from Diamond League 1 who wants into this one, so we're closer than you think to a full league. Enjoy and be ready folks. This one has the potential to be a little LOUDER than our Sunday morning Diamond League!!

And I think the only ones working this league will be me, Tom and Brady!! And we'll each have a Corona in our hands!! See ya there.

So Greg, what are you trying to say? I'm some sort of loud-mouth that is going to be the entertainment for the draft with all my trash-talk and rapier-like wit, to say nothing of my charming and effervescent personality? Well that kind of stuff doesn't come cheap, my friend. We'll have to talk. Besides, Tyrer can buy and sell us all, so let him foot the bill for the in-draft festivities. He spends $10,000 a year on Chinese food delivery. He can swing it. Face it. The only reason why he wanted in on this draft was so he could save a couple of trips to the ATM next year if he wins. I think you should consider miking us all up for the broadcast since the hidden hole card cam set up they use for tournament poker would be useless unless you want to capture a bunch of pot bellies resting on draft sheets and lap tops...excluding me of course. :o  Bring it on boys!

P.S. Magner wants in if you'll make up for the crappy NYC venue. :P

Greg,
I make the motion that you put it to a vote and just pay the top three finishers in the Diamond, and get the league champion prize up to at least $80,000. The lesser high stakes events (Super and Ultimate) have higher ROI multiplier for a first place finish than the Diamond. Doesn't make sense to me. Why is this and why not change it to up the prize levels a bit? The Diamond is the only one of the three without an 8x's multiplier on the league investment. As I see it, the only one who would balk at this change would be someone hoping to finish fourth going in in order to recoup their money. It fosters a loser's mentality. Pretty lame if you ask me. Just sayin'. You know I'm not one to speak out on stuff like this. ;)

So as a follow-up, Greg, I've been thinking (which you know is dangerous  ). How about this prize structure for the Second Diamond (or the "Diamond Extra" as I like to call it :D ):

First Place: $100,000
Second Place: $30,000
Third Place: $10,000
Fourth Place: Gorgeous set of monogrammed NFBC steak knives signed by Will Tyrer
8-)

If you're going to go all out and make this thing seriously media-worthy, the NFBC needs to get a six figure prize league going. Call it the "Diamond Extra" or whatever you like, but it just sounds so much better and ballsy this way. Not to mention, you'll fill the other three spots in a heartbeat and have not a single tentative entrant left after announcing it. You should also come up with some sort of league tie-breaker to create a winner-take-all scenario for a first place finish, because going an entire season and having to split the pot in the end just sucks even more when you are talking this type of pot for this competition...not to mention the marketing and media conundrum created afterwards should there be two first place finishers. There, some more for you. Now let's get some decisions made and get this all in stone. 8-) :D

Thanks for all of your wild ideas Mike, but the Diamond payout stays as is. I'm not sure we're ready just yet for a Diamond Winner-Take-All League!! The four payouts work at this price point and keeps everyone involved all season long. Now let's keep moving forward and fill this baby up!!

Surprising.......I would think with Mikey's high stakes resume, he'd be looking to pay out 15 spots.

Sack,
Good thing for you that you put your money where your mouth is right after you posted this crapola. And I see that was only after you dragged that poor sap Christie into it with you as your partner. What did you do, threaten to shoot him if he didn't ante up half of what amounts to half of your annual salary so you could get in?

I dare someone out there to tell me that this one isn't going to be worth the price of admission?

The last spot has your name on it Hinkleman. Make it happen by tomorrow or let everyone know that you told me the secret of your success is that you're a "pig whisperer" and you get most of your pre-draft advice from your prize sow you call, "Miss Piggy".

Greg,
I respectfully disagree. First of all, I did not suggest a "winner-take-all" format. The change would simply be to pay the top three as is done in all other NFBC leagues, only with a different prize structure. Do you honestly believe any of us in this group are going to lose interest and stop being competitive let alone withdraw their registration if you made this change to the prize structure? No way. And before you poo-poo all of my ideas as being "wild", have you happened to notice that since you took my advice and listed the second Diamond a few days ago, that this so happens to be the most viewed thread on the entire general discussion board, even more than your 2013 sign-up thread! And I still get people who message me this year to tell me how they followed the MTM thread last year every day and it was their favorite. What does this indicate? To me it shows that people like out-of-the-box ideas and the entertainment factor that they add to these types of competitions which makes them want to follow them even more and perhaps even get involved in one. How much revenue did you and Tom just add over the last few days for 2013 just with this second Diamond alone and all the hype I've been giving it just for the fun of it? You filled a second event with a $10,000 entrance fee quicker than you do some slow drafts from cryin' out loud! It's time you guys just hear out some of your loyal, biggest players and spenders who want to compete at this level and especially like to do so when you push the envelope with new and exciting ideas each year which only serve to help you make more revenue and better promote this thing you created that we all love so much. I distinctly recall all the doubts and reservations I got last year when I suggested an entirely live Super event, and heard all about the challenges in filling a high stakes league like that, but I got 15 great, top-notch competitors (give or take a few  ) all there paid and enthusiastically so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that league didn't exist before last year either. I'm not looking for compensation or even acknowledgement for it, but it would be nice if before you shot down some of the ideas I listed, that you at least heard me and the rest of us out on them. Besides the pay out structure, which if changed for the second Diamond, does nothing to affect you guys negatively in any way, there are a few ideas I've thrown out there from speaking to people that I think are good and will add to the fun and excitement of this elite event. I've been a business owner and entrepreneur for over 20 years, and I've learned that if you aren't willing to take calculated risks and think outside the box once in awhile, you're going to limit your potential for maximum success. One of my favorite quotes of all time is a baseball quote by Earl Weaver, and I use it in speaking with my clients all the time: "It's what you learn after you know it all that counts." Truer words were never spoken. Now let's get some serious dialogue going here so I can get back to busting everyone's balls like I would rather be doing right now. ;) Thanks for your consideration, and I welcome anyone and everyone reading this to take the time to give your insightful responses on this thread. Thanks again.

About isn't that Massotto guy the loser you have schooled the last two years? Only I get to pick on Christie,
The "Governor" is a quality player and I'd put my money on him straight up against you any day of the week!

Nice try on Lindy, but you won't see the Pig Farmer and the Sarge doing battle in any of these NFBC
Contests. Add to the fact he will probably serve as a silent advisor to the Sack of Lunatics. ;)

Still plenty of time for you to come to your senses Mikey and call an audible. Don't worry, we promise
Not to bust on you when you call it a day. Focus on those $150 Sat's.

The only reason Luny called you is because I kept him so entertained throughout Dough's email draft that he just had to come back to catch my Vegas show. 8-) By the looks of the team he put together in that one, I suggest you take a trip down south again to recruit Joe Anthony to be your second instead so you'll at least have a fighting chance out in Vegas. Unlike you, Sack, it took me about five minutes to make up my mind to jump into this thing because I didn't have to first have a garage sale to pawn off half of my shit in order to afford to get in. I won't have to worry about seeing you in any of the 150's because I know how much you need to budget in order to afford that bus fare for you and Christie from Rochester, NY to Nevada. That's going to be a bitch of trip, but I heard it's beautiful country. :P

Oh Mikey, you can spin this anyway you like, Kenny only had to travel a short distance to kick your ass last year in your own event.
Where did you finish among that group? Is this your first time to Vegas to play with the big boys? What took so long?
As for that little $150 E-mail league, why not wait until next October to analyze. I don't believe Kenny had to hold a yard sale as he plays with house money along with your money!!!
If you need any advice on how to get to Vegas, let me know, Iam an expert, 2 words, Air Tran. All MOUTH, no substance!!!

I won't have to worry about seeing you in any of the 150's because I know how much you need to budget in order to afford that bus fare for you and Christie from Rochester, NY to Nevada. That's going to be a bitch of trip, but I heard it's beautiful country. :P

Well, believe it or not, this Second Diamond League IS TENTATIVELY SOLD OUT!! :D :D

Amazingly, we have 15 more owners who are interested in competing in a Saturday Night Special after the Main Event. We'll get this one on Registration and officially get everyone entered soon. There are still some tentatives on this list, so if you have any interest in this league please contact me at [email protected]. Both Diamonds are tentatively SOLD OUT, but you never know what can happen between now and March. I know there are a few other owners who were contemplating this second league and I'll keep you on reserve if you'd like, then add you if anything opens up. Thanks all.

All 15 owners should also think about this and I'll do an email survey shortly, but should we also stick with the 1,200 IP minimum here. We surveyed the other owners and set the rules for 1,200 IP for the Diamond League. I assume everyone signing up for this one was thinking the same thing, but I'll email the group nonetheless. Since we pay down four spots in the Diamond League, the all-RP strategy has been tried more often here than in other events, so the move to 1,200 IP was implemented for Diamond 1.

Right now it's at 1,200 IP, unless there is a major outcry to lower it to the Main Event standard of 1,000 IP. Thanks all.
