Re: 1 SPOT LEFT IN 2013 NFBC Diamond League 3/23
So what happened? Everyone get scared off?!! We definitely have an opening it seems in this second, star-studded, celebrity Diamond event with a possible $100,000 top prize.
That stream of vulgarities you just heard was Greg cursing me out from Wisconsin.
But seriously, this is still on the table as a real possibility based on what I've heard from most of you who are signed up for this already as long as we get a 100% consensus. I'm fine either way with it. Just think it would make it extra fun and intriguing. Definitely good for when I start my media tour in the spring!
P.S. If you suddenly stop seeing posts from me, you can pretty much figure out what has happened.

You have nothing to say, Christie. Just pipe down, get a glass of warm milk, turn in for the night, and dream about what might have been if you hadn't bailed on this one with Sack.Lunatic wrote:Baseball Furies wrote:So what happened? Believe me, the last thing in the world you want is to end up sitting next to me at a live event when you have $10,000 on the line!
That last point there is a pertinent one. This could be quite painful.

But who says I would not have a bigger mouth then you live...

That would be a waste of 20000$ right there, we would be yapping our way down to the 14th and 15 th place...

Not me. I have a secret strategy that I'm working on for the Diamond. I can't elaborate on it too much without giving it away, but I'll give you a hint: It has something to do with life energy transfer and Steve Jupinka.Gates wrote:MikeBaseball Furies wrote:Gaetan,Gates wrote:Just curious,

Re: 1 SPOT LEFT IN 2013 NFBC Diamond League 3/23
There are a couple of owners on both lists who are still tentative, so that's why I've left the 1 spot left in the headline. I do think we have 30 solid owners on the list, but I do understand how something could happen between now and early March when we ask for payments. So if you have an interest in a Diamond League, just let me know and I'll put you on the waiting list. You never know what may happen. Not only that, but maybe there's enough interest in a third Diamond!!!Gates wrote:Just curious,

Still trying to get everybody in Diamond2 to go with 100/30/10 payout? Why not see if anybody in Diamond1 would like to swap leagues with the dissenters and go for the 100k? You've got nearly 30 guys ready to toss $10k into an entry fee, I'm pretty sure at least 15 of them are not fixated on the idea of 4th place money and would jump at the chance for 100k. Let each guy decide which payout he prefers, and the guys signed up for both can pick the one that suits their preference, or stick with both. Seems simple enough, and with a waiting list it shouldn't be hard to fill both and keep everybody happy.

Re: 1 SPOT LEFT IN 2013 NFBC Diamond League 3/23
I have no huge preference regarding payout structure one way or the other, but I may be willing to switch leagues if it would help. Let's see, trading a league with Juprinka, KJ, and RT for one with Massotto. True, it may pay out one less spot, but the difference in competition for those spots would more than make up for it.The Fool on the Hill wrote:Still trying to get everybody in Diamond2 to go with 100/30/10 payout? Glenn, excellent point. Have you ever seen a guy so willing to give up ten grand? MTM walks into these drafts and surveys the draft table, walks away muttering to himself that he can't seem to find the dead money. Reminds me from a scene in Rounders when Matt Damon talks about not being able to identify the easy mark.

Re: 1 SPOT LEFT IN 2013 NFBC Diamond League 3/23
I find it strange and a bit amusing that a guy who is doing everything possible to dodge me by bailing in all the high stakes events that he has the opportunity to face me in this year (including the MTM Super, is still attempting to make witty commentary about the Second Diamond. This will be by far THE event of the entire NFBC 2013 season, and strangely Sack and Glen X (in all his jealousy), are going to be strangely absent from the festivities.Sack wrote:Glenn, excellent point. No Fool, although this is an intriguing idea, we will let all of the whale sharks in Diamond 1 continue to feed off of each other in pursuit of a potentially inferior prize payout, while the rebels of the fun-loving crowd in Diamond 2 compete for the bigger purse with all the proper media coverage and hype this event deserves, right Greg? The Fool on the Hill wrote:Still trying to get everybody in Diamond2 to go with 100/30/10 payout? Oh, and one more thing, are prostitutes and farm animals allowed in the draft venue? I know that prostitution is legal in Vegas, but I'm not sure about bestiality. I wanted to check before renting the donkey. Let me know. Thanks.

Mikey, Have you ever been to Vegas? Prostitution is NOT legal in Vegas.
I think you should rent the Donkey and let him draft for you, it will give you a better chance at cashing?

Re: 1 SPOT LEFT IN 2013 NFBC Diamond League 3/23
Incredible that this thread dropped off the first page, when it should still be all the rage! Just a quick update, Greg. I have gotten a bunch of PM's and emails about the $100,000 pay out structure that was thown out there by myself and others who were pushing me to put it out there. From what I can tell, based on who is still lined up for this second diamond event, I don't think we would get any or much pushback if at all if you were okay with backing it as well. We can still see what happens, and we don't have to make anything final yet. But since it still seems like it's on everyone's mind, can we throw it out there for a final vote? No harm in trying since you're also throwing around some other ideas that are different from the norm with this event (ie. live picking of draft spots to name one that I recall). I have even heard from at least two owners who were on the fence about it before, but are now game for anything based upon what the majority decides. So what do you say?
C'mon, I will even facilitate and fill a live draft for you during the NCAA Viewing Party since we're going to be there for several hours anyway. I'm sure I can come up with some sort of unique twists for that one. What do you day?

Hey Mikey, Sorry to disappoint you but I will not be in Vegas that weekend to kick your ASS, Or to bail you out of Jail. So you better be nice to Jupinka, He is the only one there with enough cash to keep you safe.
