NFBC Draft Champions
NFBC Draft Champions
Greg,
I see the overall prize schedule for the Draft Champions format on the website is:
Place Overall
1st $10,000
2nd $4,000
3rd $3,000
4th $1,250
5th $750
6th $500
7th $500
8th $500
9th $250
10th $250
It looks like it is based on a total of 24 leagues (or 360 teams):
Number of leagues: 20
Total Number of Teams: 300
Cost Per Entry: $150
PLUS
Number of leagues: 4
Total Number of Teams: 60
Cost Per Entry: $375
Is that correct?

No, that's not correct. I'll have to update that; those team figures aren't correct. I don't have the figure in front of me, but I think it's based on the 1,050 total teams we had last year. Let me check on all of this tomorrow in the office.

Re: NFBC Draft Champions
It should be 80 percent, like most of our online contests. I think we had 60 leagues in the $150 DC last year and 10 leagues in the $375 DC. I'm pretty sure I based the payouts on the same total, although I sure expect to finish with more than that this year!!Gekko wrote:Thanks. Re: NFBC Draft Champions
The prizes are actually based on 1,050 teams, so overall prizes can increase if we top 70 leagues. Let's do it!!
Here's what the site will be changed to, so thanks for the catch:
Number of teams per league: 15
Number of leagues: 60
Total Number of Teams: 900
Cost per Entry: $150
Game Information $375
Number of teams per league: 15
Number of leagues: 10
Total Number of Teams: 150
Cost per Entry: $375

Re: NFBC Draft Champions
How many leagues are you up to now? I see a sign up for #56 of the $150 variety. Does that number include the "express", the "well-paced" and the "4-hour" variations?
Re: NFBC Draft Champions
good question John! maybe Greg can provide # of leagues for each specific format? it's looking like there will be at least 100 leaguesJohnP wrote:How many leagues are you up to now? Re: NFBC Draft Champions
I think the original premise was $25 of the entry fee was "earmarked" for the overall prize pool. 100 leagues * 15 teams * $25 * 80% = 30k. Oh yeah - bump it up.Gekko wrote:good question John! maybe Greg can provide # of leagues for each specific format? it's looking like there will be at least 100 leaguesJohnP wrote:How many leagues are you up to now? Re: NFBC Draft Champions
John,
It's an overall 80% payout.
For example, assuming we get 80 $150 leagues and $20 $375 leagues...
80 - $150 leagues = $180,000 in revenue
20 - $375 leagues = $112,500 in revenue
Total revenue = $292,500
Total prize money (ie Revenue less 20%) = $234,000
Prize money for each $150 team league = $1,500
Prize money for all 80 $150 team leagues = $120,000
Prize money for each $375 team league = $4,200
Prize money for all 20 $375 team leagues = $84,000
Prize money left for overall leaderboard = $234,000 - $120,000 - $84,000 = $30,000
So, we are likely looking at another 9K+ being added to the overall leaderboard. BANG!

Re: NFBC Draft Champions
Right now we have 55 full $150 Draft Champions Leagues, 12 full $375 Draft Champions Leagues and 1 full $1,000 DC for a total of 68 Draft Champions Leagues. I misspoke previously; the current overall prizes are based on 70 full leagues with the overall prize pool the same as last year when we hit 70 full leagues. We are definitely on pace to top last year's total and yes the overall prize pool goes up with every league over 70. And yes, $25 from each entry no matter the entry point -- that includes the $150, $375 and $1,000 DC Leagues -- is earmarked for the overall prize pool paid out at 80%. So it's not hard to do the math to see how much extra prize money will be available if we finish with 80, 90 or 100 leagues.JohnP wrote:How many leagues are you up to now? We are keeping an accurate total with each new league, so count along with us!! The demand has FAR EXCEEDED our expectations and in the future we may just have to start out with that $15,000 grand prize!!
