I picked Clemens in in the 16th round of ny 6,,,i was wondering where vegas chicago and tampa picked him? I think hes gonna play,,,In NY he was around the 16th - 18th....Under the table deal?????? "I will pitch for the Astros,,as long as you bring my son up in September"? DO WE HAVE A DEAL?

Tampa 1 took him in rd 14 with the 2nd to last pick in the rd..he may retire..but if he doesnt it turns out to be a great steal
Sometimes I'm good and sometimes I'm bad....but I always try real hard.

I took him in 19th round in Ultamite league 2. Never been a big fan, but seemed like a good place to take a risk.

I took him in the american league auction for 2 bucks.Worth the gamble , 25 dollar player if he lands with TEXAS, BOSTON, or NY.

If so, I think you'll find Clemons more valuable as an Astro. Sure the wins might be down a bit, but all the other categories will be much better. Not being a homer here, but if I had Clemons, I would much rather him sign with Houston than the 3 AL teams.

Clemens went in Tampa #3 with the 13th pick in the 11th round (163rd player taken). Not by me, though....no, no, no...I am hanging my hat on sure things like Prior!
Clemens is a flash in the pan anyway...never make it long term in baseball...

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

$7 in the 1250NL auction. Houston or nothing, everything else is just a smokescreen. Why else would he announce he'll wait 'til May to make a decision? At least I hope.

Eddie, you'll get your money's worth.
In May you'll read, Clemons signs with Houston for whatever millions of dollars Drayton made from his huge ticket price increase, and a clause that states Houston has to call up his son, Koby, in Septebmer.
Remember, you read it here first folks.

I took him in the 16th in NY1, and got him for $6 late in a 12 team, $260 draft too. I'll be very very happy with half a season at those spots and rates. Personally, I don't think theres any way that the great Roger Clemens ends his HOF career with a loss to Mexico....

In LV4, we took Clemens in the 18th round - at that point the potential impact outweighed the risk that we might have just drafted a zero.
I think the non-registered poster is dead wrong on the AL issue - while Clemens was a free agent at the drafts, in an AL only league if he signs with an NL team, he will not collect AL stats - but I still agree with Eddie that is was a strong play that late in the draft.

Cap't Hook:
Have to disagree about Clemens. Our AL auction draft in NY was stopped in the middle for 10 minutes & we got an official ruling that Clemens stats would count no matter where he signs.

Pigs,
If that's the case it would be inconsistent with all prior year NFBC rulings. Which has been, anyone may draft an unsigned agent, but if he does not sign in your (AL or NL) lge his stats DO NOT count.
Which is different from a player in your lge who is later traded to the other lge, in this case stats do count.
