Live Chat With Greg & Tom: Tuesday, 3 pm ET

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Feb 11, 2013 2:16 pm

Okay, we're gluttons for punishment, so we have stepped back up for another Live Chat this week. We'll be here tomorrow from 3-4 pm ET to take your questions and to get some feedback for this week's SiriusXM show.

This week our guests will be:

7:15 pm ET - Jeff Butler, 2012 NFBC XII Champion. We'll promote the NFBC XII Main Event and get Jeff's insights into last year's win, which earned him $51,400.

8:15 pm ET - Jeff Dobies, two-time NFBC Auction Champion who teamed up with Andy Saxton to win the overall title last year. Jeff also won the 2010 debut NFBC Auction Championship. We'll talk about the auction format and see if we can place some dollar values on some top guys.

It will be fun to talk about these two contests on Wednesday night. But best of all, we'll be doing this week's show remotely from our office. That should make things much easier.

We'll also talk about Ryan Braun's fantasy value and where he is going in NFBC drafts since last Tuesday. We'll also talk about Michael Bourn as the top available free agent right now and we'll also look at another MLB division and how fantasy owners view players in that division. Which division should we analyze this week?

Okay, feel free to post your comments or questions here and we'll answer them as we can in the next day. Then we'll definitely be here tomorrow at 3 pm ET to talk live for an hour. BRING IT ON!!! We'll take any baseball questions, NFBC questions, football questions, love advice, anything you have. We're ready for ya.

C'mon, nobody has any questions for either Tom or me today? What the hell is going on in the NFBC world? ;) I mean, there's like 18 posts congratulating Glenn Lowy for writing on BaseballHQ.com and nothing for me and Tom?? What the hell's up with that?

Well, we're still here today if anyone wants to discuss some baseball or NFBC items. Just sayin'. ;)

Sure. He's guilty. Happy?

Now, back to following the NFBC trends to see if the real concern is whether he will be SUSPENDED for 50 games or not. So far it doesn't look that way and NFBC owners are saying so with their picks each night.

So Cleveland brings in Reynolds, Swisher, Bourn, Stubbs, Myers and Bauer while losing Choo.

Enough to make it interesting in the Central, or are they bottom feeding with the Twinkies again?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Oh geez, now I've had it. I'm banning Lowy from the NFBC boards RIGHT NOW!!

And dude, you went from receiving puffball questions on Wednesday night about your 2nd NFBC Auction Championship to Piers Morgan style investigative questions. No more Larry King softballs from me on Wednesday night.

Bourn is in Cleveland. So who takes that last spot in the Texas outfield...Martin or Gentry?

Do you see Julio Teheran succeeding as the 5th for the Bravos?

I haven't posted anything lately because the Bellagio still hasn't given me an exact quote on this party. We have added it to Registration at $100 per person, which will include the projector screen in Monet 1, buffet food and open bar. I think we'll start around 4 pm and go through the night games. Again, we are in Monet 1 where we had the party last March and it also includes the walkout patio area.

I need suggestions for buffet food. Some of you guys have tasted them all, so what should we order:
Mexican
Italian (meatfalls and spaghetti)
Steak & Chicken
Burgers & Chicken strips

I can't think of the rest, but I know those are my favorites. Say the word and I'll order it. Again, this should cover you all night and we are 5 minutes (okay, with a good jog) from the Sportsbook. Should be fun. You must be signed up to attend because I need to order the amount of food in advance. Thanks all.

Any update on the technological enhancements? ie, scoring, standings, mobile app?
I know you guys are hopeful they'll be ready by opening day, does that look likely?

Thanks.

Just my preference, but I would prefer roadkill stew over mexican! ;)

Closer to home, does Yovani Gallardo take the next step into Kershaw/Verlander land in 2013?

We had Mexican at last year's NCAA Viewing Party. It's a fantastic spread they set out. Trust me on this one. :D

Is Justin Morneau all the way back (say 25+ HR with a .280 BA)?

IT promises that all 3 will be ready by Opening Day. I'm computer illiterate, so I have to trust them.

I think we all know how incredibly addicting this game will become when Live Overall Standings are implemented for baseball. I understand how cool it is for football on Sundays, but in baseball? Man, every night for 6 months with $100,000 on the line? I think this will be cool. We have it for the leagues, but overall this should be awesome. I'm confident about the improved Live Scoring and the mobile apps because those were almost completed last Fall. I trust these will be ready.

will we see the good axford or the bad one this season?

do you expect segura to hold off alex gonzalez this year? prediction on his stats?

thanks..

Two kinda fun questions...

Who are your top 5 values according to the adp at this time?

What would you tell your new audience of NFBC players coming the 3 most important things or strategies that have worked in past to hang with the "sharks" in the water?
