Screw it, let's go for 200 then!
So we are on? 200 for whoever finishes higher in the top 300?

Someone please step in and save Chris Troop one hundred dollars, if you have talked with Chris or drafted with him you know 2 things. He is a nice guy and he loves the name players. I have seen both teams I will take a side wager on Childs may even give some odds.
As for the feature it has flaws but overall it is wonderful. The most skilled players will know where and why they reached- if in the first 15 rounds you saw a big negative and it shocked you shame on you. If most of your profit is from the late rounds do not get too excited. Now if you show a profit like KOQ then you did a lot right unless 500 of those came from the last 10.

Here is the concept of last years stats. You take Garrett Anderson and you think he will at least repeat last years stats. If he does, you would be happy. I take Jason Kubel early because I think he does better than Garrett Anderson. On the surface, you say you have value, but at the end of the year when Kubel put up better numbers and is a top ten pick. Who had more value?

Shawn a little shocked you went Patterson so early- we got him a few rounds later. Obviously you had a team that was set up to endure his avg for the trade offs. He could be a real difference maker or on waivers July 4th it should be interesting.

After Rd 9-10 of any draft, each league takes on a life of it's own as teams fill their varying needs.
Your team isn't any better because you picked Robertson, Burke, LaRue, Eaton, Burnitz and others after some other guy in some other league that had different draft dyanmics.
This stuff doesn't mean much at all.
I suspect very good owners have a few minus' on guys they took a round early, yet expect them to perform 5 rounds better than where they picked them. Funny how you chose the guys at the bottom to show how I didn't get value, but ignored:
#10 Ryan Dempster (CL, ChC) 128.68 157 +28.32 25
#11 Nomar Garciaparra (3B, LAD) 131.32 144 +12.68 25
#12 Robinson Cano (2B, NYY) 150.40 187 +36.60 25
#14 Chad Orvella (MR, TB) 188.44 217 +28.56 25
#15 Francisco Liriano (SP, Min) 193.96 204 +10.04 25
#16 Kevin Millwood (SP, Tex) 220.44 234 +13.56 25
#17 Garret Anderson (LF, LAA) 221.84 247 +25.16 25
#18 Odalis Perez (SP, LAD) 246.44 307 +60.56 25
#19 Aaron Boone (3B, Cle) 260.08 264 +3.92 24
Spy [/QUOTE]I didn't ignore them. Those are the "others". I didn't feel like typing them all out.
It doesn't matter.
The only thing that matters is where they rank at the end of the season.
I'm not winning because I got:
C.Hart +26.94
A.Hernandez +20.42
R.Lopez +72.40
A.Everett +69.32
D.Baez +27.92
T.Jones +13.24
B.Colon +21.12
J.Cantu +12.00
That's +260 something. BFD. I look at the top 4 there that I listed and all I get from it is that I have a different reserve strategy than most.

I think I got some decent value with this pick:
#253 Jeremy Reed (CF, Sea) 252.48 290 +37.52
yea baby!!!

I'm having a bit of trouble finding the link in my "View Draft Results" dropdown.
Is it only for those in the main event...or do the satellites get access to it as well.
Thanks in advance.

"If you think having a high score is great, you are mistaken. It means you drafted conservatively. You drafted players based on last year stats and this years draft position. When A player slips a couple of rounds, you saw it as an opportunity. When others might see it as downside in a player. The real winner will be the one who moved up players and got them right. -As for your team, Rolen, Boone and G. Anderson are risks. I think Rolen should be alright, but the other two are on the down side."
-You are under a 110 in steals and that is giving H. Ramirez 30. You could have more if you play Burke, but he will hurt you in HR and RBIs.
-Your catchers are well below par. Those two alone will cost you.
-Your pitching should be ok, but you won't league you league for sure. CC - I can't agree with you more, albeit for slightly different reasons. Although I'm not certain that teams with high scores drafted off of last year's stats, I do think that many teams that ended up with high scores continually drafted the best player available. Therefore, despite the fact that their 3rd or 4th starting pitcher may have been great bargains they likely passed over need positions or categories (speed, power, MI, CI) with these "value" picks. In a trading league this may be the best strategy, but here it most likely is not.
As Buster aptly pointed out in his experiment/article, the NFBC is not about piecing together the best collaboration of talent (or for that matter the best bargains), but assembling the most well rounded and productive team. If that means reaching slightly on a need position or category, then so be it. Bargains are useful only in the proper context.

I've gotta believe that those folks on the corners would naturally have a poorer ADP vs Actual number then those in the middle.
If you like a guy on the corner that you think could drop 15 but won't drop 28, you'll grab him. Wereas a manager in the middle can make an objective decision to let him slide, and take a more "consensus" pick for his spot.

Ok let me try another hypothesis. Shouldn't the "league" ADP vs Actual equal about zero for players in all 25 leagues?
So for every "have" in the league, theres a "have not"?

A 65 plus for taking LaRue in the 23rd? Numbers signifying nothing. I'd rather target a few players and get them early and get a minus for that then get a "bargain" like LaRue. Just my opinion.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

You can probably discount the later picks, as the variance is tremendous on players picked after Round 20.
Here are some of the early ones that resulted in a high ADP score for me:
Adam Dunn 42.52 ---> selected #60
Chipper Jones 78.04 ---> selected #121
Jason Varitek 115.64 ---> selected #150
Jeff Francouer 134.88 ---> selected #180
Shawn Green 191.52 ---> selected #241

KOQ, Chipper Jones in the 9th round is an outright theft. He may have had a down year last year, but how can he slip that far? I would have been content to have taken him in the 7th round, when you took Roberts, who is a bigger injury risk.
