What position is Evan Gattis in the NFBC now?
I know for Atlanta he is a catcher. If you click on his name on any fantasy site he shows as a catcher. This season he has played catcher in every game but one. When I try to find him on the NFBC site he is shown as an outfielder.
I assume this means he is an outfielder and I must be missing something. Can someone more experienced provide feedback? No point in bidding on him in faab if I need him as a catcher if he isn't eligible there.

Nine games at catcher so far. His next game catching will make him catcher eligible.

Today was his 9th game at catcher -- one more and he's eligible.
Unless something wacky happens, we should be able to put him at C next FRIDAY, the 19th.

wow.. big downer for me. I lost Ramos with a hamstring and can't pick up Gattis for this week because he is one game short.

37 games at outfield in the minors last year; 27 at catcherDriver Love wrote:didn't realize he played outfield more than catcher in minors.
You can always pick him up and move him into catcher once he's eligible. If he keeps this up, he's going to be as good as John Buck.

Why's is it a big downer? Add him and sit him Mon-Thur and start Fri. Worth taking zeroes for 3 games to get that bat at catcher. He looks good in the OF slot right now the way he's hitting.

We would still need a catcher in the catcher spot to have a legal lineup correct?

It is a downer for a couple reasons. One, I only need a catcher for a couple weeks and buying Gattis isn't as valuable when he missed most of the first one. I do not think he will have long term value with McCann and Freeman coming back. would be fun to ride him some now.

Yes, always need to submit a legal line up.Rog wrote:We would still need a catcher in the catcher spot to have a legal lineup correct?

Of course you can pick him up. You just won't have a C for 4 days.Driver Love wrote:wow.. big downer for me. I lost Ramos with a hamstring and can't pick up Gattis for this week because he is one game short.
