Hate to say it but Roy Halladay is done

Post by TOXIC ASSETS » Sun May 05, 2013 1:34 pm

Don't have him on my fantasy team but watching the Phillies game right now and I would not be surprised to see him retire before seasons end. No velocity, no control, no nothing. Pitches in middle of the plate are being smoked by no-name hitters you never heard of. Halladay has nothing to ashamed of, in my opinion he has had Hall Of Fame career. But as a quality starter....it's over.

agreed - Halladay has to have an injury, either that or he is just plain done. 4 walks today, 2 HP, 4 hits... sure sounds like a shoulder issue..... He is droppable now IMO.........

Hope his career isn't over. He has been a GREAT pitcher at times and a very good pitcher for over a decade. It has been a pleasure to watch him pitch a baseball game.

He is just 1 of 5 pitchers with 200+ Wins and a winning percentage at .661 or better.

It's interesting, it seems like almost everyday I read on these boards how one player or another is a pussy. They can't play with pain, can't run with a stubbed toe, won't pitch with a little arm soreness.

Well here is your example of a pitcher that took the ball every five days.......

I don't know when his arm started hurting, but does anyone really think it just happened today? There has been speculation about his arm being hurt since the first outing in spring training.

So the question is, did Roy Halladay help his team by being an "old-school" tough SOB and continuing to pitch through a shoulder injury (assuming he has had an injury all season, which is still an if) ??

I'm not sure if I'm saddened more by the struggles and possible end of a great pitching career or the $200 I spent on Halladay in KJ's MLBC Salary league.

Hey, I spent about the same on Jeter. When you are spending the big bucks, you need to take the big boys and the big busts.
