So far, Who makes you jealous???
I know it's still early, but after watching Harvey tonight continue to dominate, it got me thinking. Who is everyone jealous of that they don't have on any teams that targeted him and didn't get them or just flat out didn't want to draft them early and now regret they didn't. Matt Harvey is that guy from me, but was just curious who else makes anyone jealous that they don't own out there?
Re: So far, Who makes you jealous???
Jealous of Matt Harvey, Jason Grilli, Starling Marte, Chris Davis, John Buck, people who avoided Julio Teheran & Josh Hamilton (not me), the genius who drafted Jose Valverde in the 30th Round of the Chicago Main #2 (while I tried to get cute with Alberquerque/Benoit...ahh...don't get me started...). But I'm especially jealous of all the Matt Harvey owners while im stuck with Julio Tehran. I totally whiffed on Matt Harvey, never saw this.
And of all 4 of my teams, I have all of 0 of the above. Must be why I am in last place in every league I am in. Pure fantasy-bad- genius. Couldn't even do that if I tried. Newsflash: I'm just not very good at Fantasy Baseball.
On an unrelated note, it is about time someone calls out (other than umpires on strikeouts) Jay Bruce's ass...anytime you want to hit a homerun Jay-Boy will be just fine with me. Like a jilted lover, I'm already starting to despise your ass...I've seen enough 1-4's with 3K's & no Hr's to last me a season. Your 26 years-old, hitting behind high OBP guys, great ballpark...blah, blah, blah...and oh, hey, another K by Brucie. Sick of it!

I like to think I'm a patient guy
Josh Hamilton and BJ Upton are testing that patience right now
I wish I had Goldschmidt on more than one team

AND...I also forgot, I am also jealous of this skinny-tie-wearing putz with my girlfriend Keira Knightley. Sorry for the TMZ-ation of the MB's.

Re: So far, Who makes you jealous???
Way too many players to name here. Basically any player performing well that's not on one of my teams, or performing well that's only on a couple of my teams, or performing well that's not on all of my teams. Basically everyone performing well.
Re: So far, Who makes you jealous???
Last 2 years running I took flyers on Travis Hafner with disappointing returns.
This year I blew him off and bid a very nominal amount for him in FAAB.
I'm hoping he goes thru his usual DL stint and I can say that I saw it coming.
Or at least the Yankee walking wounded gets better and his role is relegated to pinch hitting.
But the rest of my team sucks anyway so he wouldn't have made enough difference..at this point anyway.

I regret not grabbing Carlos Gomez while I had the chance. He went 8.2 in our Online Championship 12 teamer

Matt Harvey definitely. I was targeting him at a certain spot and he was taken right before the pick I decided to take him. Oh well! Much like you, my team sucks anyway and it would not make all that much of a difference. It's facking early May, and I'm pretty much out of it. I even have that mlb tv package, and I'm so distraught I could care less to watch any games at this point. For a hitter, I would say Chris Davis. I really thought he could be a one year wonder, but I think I am wrong now. That was the ONLY reason I did not draft him.
I, too, am not good at fantasy baseball. I knew I was not a few years ago. This is not a new thought.

Re: So far, Who makes you jealous???
For me it is Matt Harvey mainly because I had targeted him as a must have. I had watched him in spring training. I had heard interviews with his coach about how he was headed for stardom. I knew he played for a bad team and it may hurt his wins. I knew he may have an innings cap. I still wanted him. His adp was in the 130's and in my league he was taken way earlier. Drives me nuts to not have him while watching B. Morrow, C. Lee, Ian Kennedy, Medlen, Haren and Vogelsong puke on themselves and carry K rates like Mike Pelfry.
Misery.
Others I wanted and and sick watching are Harper, Gomez, Kershaw, goldschmidt, Darvish
Guys I wanted who I am lucky I didn't get... Heyward, Strasburg, price, Greinke, Hanley, Ramirez

Re: So far, Who makes you jealous???
I'm jealous of anyone who owns AJ Griffin and had the balls to start him @ NYY last week.
He was on my bench for the shutout vs Yankees. Perhaps he should join Darvish and King Felix on my "must start" list.
Cheers!

Keep grinding brotha! Waaaaay to early to quit. And to quit watching baseball? Blasphemy. Grind. Grind. Grind. You as the GM owe it to your team to keep battling. Work the waiver wire. This is not fantasy football. Hell, we're one week into May, Rome is burning and your playing the fiddle on the roof? You're throwing in the White Flag? Yo momma didn't raise no quitter! Last year at this time Trout and Harper just got called up, Alfonso Soriano and Albert Pujols had one home run at this time last year.Matt Harvey definitely. This is the N.F. f****n B.C. Where the creme de la creme (myself excluded of course) come to compete. Quitters need not apply. You quit, you lose respect. Grind. Battle. Anything less and you let yourself, your family, your team, and your League down. Hell, you let Greg, Tom, and the entire NFBC family down. We do not allow quitting in the NFBC. Pennants are not awarded in May. We play 162, baby. The Marathon of marathons. You're losing interest? UN-f****-acceptable. My team may suck, I may be in last place in every league, but he'll if I'm going to quit. I may not win, I may finish in 14th place, but I will NEVER quit, I will NEVER lose interest and I guarantee I will not finish in last place in any of my league because I refuse to quit. Quitting is for pussies. 14th place, HERE I COME!

Coz, please read the paragraph once again. I do not recall stating anywhere that I was quiting. If you find it, let me know. I said I'm probably already out of it and could care less about the season much for the most part. I never said I was going to abandon my team and let it fall apart or totally give up. In fact, i'm the last person to EVER EVER do that. I've been in last place with 40 to 50 points and in the last 2-3 weeks I was grabbing players to still improve my team when that team was horrible. i think i would be the last person to throw in the towel in the whole event. i've been in last place a whole season, and still made moves every single week to try to get better. i dont see where you came up with all this.

Marlboro (do you go by Jimy or Marlboro? Lol):
Didn't mean to single you out nor imply that you, specifically, we're quitting. It was meant more as a rant against the idea of quitting more than anything else. Didn't mean to make it personal towards you. It was also meant to be more motivational and talking out loud to myself through you more than anything. All love and respect for the grinders. May have misinterpreted your line on you losing interest in watching baseball more than anything. I think that is what got me fired up. That, or my Manhattan!

Jimmy is fine. Nah, don't worry about it. I got a chuckle out of it anyway. I just did not want you to think I was quiting already. It's tough on this board to tell what people mean anyway ya know, or in written communication period. No offense taken. Have a good night man!COZ wrote:Marlboro (do you go by Jimy or Marlboro? Lol):
