This Or That?

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Tue Jun 25, 2013 12:01 pm

Alright, I've never let my subject line mix with that of 'General NFBC Discussion', but there's not much going on here and something over there has REALLY made me feel old.
I know most of you guys are still young, virile guys in their 20's or 30's. I get that.
I also realize that the libido is an animal in all of us that needs fed for survival.
I get that.
At the same time, we have something else in common. Fantasy baseball.

To get to the point, I started a thread called 'This or That'. It is a little game show where you can pick this or that, and never be wrong in that the answers are in our own best interests. You can go there if wanting to see all 10 questions.
Anyway, Question number one has made me feel well past my prime or maybe taking fantasy baseball a little too seriously :D

Here it is:

Question #1
Would you rather have THIS- Having your way with the Hollywood starlet of your choice...
Or THAT- Each of your players tallying a hr and sb for a night....

Maybe it is that I picture this Hollywood starlet spending most of her time laughing at me or not taking me serious.
Maybe it's that I'd select the girl from 'Trouble With the Curve', hoping that she has retained some baseball knowledge so that at least we'd have something to talk about.
Maybe it's that my friends would never believe I bedded the girl from the Eastwood movie over the not caring that I got 14 homers and 14 stolen bases in a night.
Or, maybe I'm just an old sombitch :D
Any which way, I'm the only one to choose, THAT.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

But what if the starlett was picked for an upcoming bio-pic because she looked so much like the original for "The Ann-Margret Story"?

Hmmmm? 8-)
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Okay....this needs some clarification.

In a vacuum, I'd take THIS.
I'll forget in a year or a month that that all my players scored, but I'll always have that night.
And besides, my team sucks so bad that I would need a month of that scoring to make a difference.

However, assuming that my girlfriend never sees this, I am happily satisfied with my current paramour, so I have no need for Megan Fox, Anjolina Jolie (who, in the past I have listed on several rosters as my wife :D ) or any of Maxim's Hot 100 (can you believe Miley Cyrus is #1 :o )

I default to THAT.

I think I made that waaaay too complicated.

Alright. That answered my question.
Dammit. I'm old.
If Ann-Margret were in her 20's, and I the same, those 14 homers and 14 stolen bases would be a Wobegone thought.
Either way, VIVA LAS VEGAS! :D

I hear you, though I do not care how old I am (does Viagra come in a 55-gallon drum size?), only how old she is! ;)

Give me the Hollywood gal. A jack and a steal by everyone still won't catch me up. Getting married soon so the last hurrah type thing. Although I do get an Andre Kirlenko clause. Not that I would ever use it as I am badly outkicking my coverage as is.

Congrats, old buddy!

Now you enter the realm of having to explain why your ratty lucky jersey should not be used to polish furniture, trying to figure out why going to the mall just to see what is there is a rational use of time, explaining why the double-cheeseburger with chili-cheese fries IS a wise and healthy lunch option, and having your wife explain to your neighbors that you are in Vegas doing your "baseball-thingy"...

Maybe Greg should arrange for an NFBC honor guard to be at your wedding...then you and your new bride could exit under a canopy of projections and printouts instead of sabres.

Seriously, many, many good wishes to you and your intended. :)

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, Chad. Best of luck and I hope the night gives you a moment to crack out your Biancalana jersey!
