You want to unite the union against Selig, let him try that best interest of baseball crap. Selig had a strong case against all of these guys, and it would have been a simple, quick and decisive victory to have suspended first-time caught guys for 50 games. Instead, Selig tried to overreach outside of the JDA, and now he might just have a prolonged PED battle, which will do exactly what he is trying to gloss over -- confirm him as commissioner of the steroid era.

Rodriguez has burned his reputation already, he has nothing left to do but fight for his money. Selig is incompetent.

I don't want anything, other than Cheaters to be held accountable. Ah, the root of it all money...Sad, very sad. As to why Selig and MLB are the bad guys in your opinion, I must be missing something. The JDA and CBA allows for many forms of discipline to be handed out. The Best interests of Baseball does apply when one of your biggest Stars, engages in threats against non baseball citizens for attempting to cooperate with an MLB investigation into PEDS use. I would not want be Arod in an arbitration hearing or courtroom, when MLB rolls out multiple witness's against him. I suppose they will all by lying?

Selig and MLB has been doing a Good job the past 7 years and this case will prove that!!!!!!!!!

These are some known Cheaters, players who have actually admitted using PEDS and cheating. There are many other lesser MLB names and minor leaguers and hundreds of others over the past 10 years who have tested positive. These players all admitted, exception being Bonds, who a jury admitted it for him.

Ken Caminiti- Dead - admitted in an interview
Bobby Estealla - admitted in an interview
Jason Giambi- Grand Jury Testimony
Jeremy Giambi -Grand Jury Testimony
Benito Santiago- Grand Jury Testimony
Gary Sheffield- Grand Jury testimony said he got his steroids directly form Barry Bonds.
Jose Canseco- Admitted to congress
Tom House- admitted in an interview that on avg. 5 pitchers on every staff were using Roids in the late 70's
Wally Joyner - admitted in an interview
Rafael Palmiero- Tested positive, said Miguel Tejada gave him a pill that was steroids.
Jim Leyritz- admitted in an interview HGH use
Paxton Crawford - admitted in an interview HGH use during the 2001-03 seasons. claimed steroids "had a hold of the game" and players were "walking around like zombies"
John rocker - admitted in an interview HGH use
Jason Grimsley- admitted to FEDS after arrest for distribution
David Segui - admitted in an interview HGH use
Brian Roberts - admitted in an interview Steroid use only one time.
Andy Pettite- admitted in an interview HGH use
Alex Rodriguez - admitted in an interview HGH use
Mark McGwire - admitted in an interview Steroid use
Manny Ramirez - Tested positive twice and admits making mistakes.
Melky Cabrera- Tested positive and admitted using Steroids
Bartolo Colon - Tested positive and admitted using PEDS
Eric Gagne- Admitted in his book of HGH use and 80% of his teammates on the Dodgers were using in 2004

Poster Child Barry Bonds - his appeal was heard this year, but no ruling as of today. If denied, he will then start serving his sentence and his Felony conviction which will stand forever on his record. Baseball's home run king never admitted to using PEDS and never tested positive. But in April 2011 Bonds was found guilty of lying to a grand jury during the government's investigation of BALCO, by testifying that he never knowingly took any illegal substances. He was sentenced in December 2011 to two years probation, 30 days of home confinement and 250 hours of community service for an obstruction of justice conviction. The jury at his trial in federal court in San Francisco failed to reach a verdict on three perjury counts; prosecutors decided against pursuing a new trial on those charges. Bonds will not begin serving his 30-day home confinement period or two-year probation until his appeal is settled, a process that will take approximately 18 months.

I've often mentioned to my fellow New Yorkers who happened to have grown up fans of the Evil Empire that it's quite obvious that the Bronx is the center of the PED universe. You mention Montero and Melky. Please...that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Montero
Melky

ARoid
Clemens
Pettite
Giambi
Sheffield
Leyritz
Colon
Cano

Even the player who broke the whole scandal in the first place had his time in pinstripes.... Canseco.

Those are just those who've been publicly linked to steroids. But how about .....

Paul O'Neill ..... was there any doubt that he was suffering from Roid Rage?
Lou Pinella ...... see above.
Billy Martin....... see above.
Reggie............. who do you think taught Canseco and Big Mac during his second tour in Oakland?
Doc Medich....... how do you think he got his nickname?
Doc Ellis...........is it really that big a jump from acid to steroids?
Steve Howe........see above, just substitute coke for acid.
Mike Kekich/Fritz Peterson....see above, just substitute wife swapping for acid.
Mantle............. addictive personality, big power?
Ruth................ see above.
Maris............... was he losing his hair due to stress or was it something that would explain a little better the Brady Anderson like power year out of nowhere?

I think we can all accept the fact that the Yankees have been the center of this problem for close to a century now. Honestly how long before Jeter and Mariano get caught or come out?

I think if MLB really wants to set an example, they should strip the Yankees of any World Series title that could possibly come under suspicion of being PED aided. I'd start with the 2000 Series myself. ;)

Doc & Straw were clean cut All-American boys until tainted during their stay in the Bronx.

Also, little known fact about the Keith coke scandal.....it came out years later that Keith was turned on to coke for the first time during his time with the Cards by none other than Willie McGee. Yes, the Willie McGee who started in the Yankees farm system. Coincidence? I'll let the judge and jury decide.

Glen - absolutley agree. 2009 is the one that should be stripped first. Arod was on massive PED spree that season and he basically carried the Yankess through the enitre playoffs. I feel bad for Girradi, wearing number 27, knowing now, it was a drug infested Team. Jeter and Mo - never used, but they know who has.

I've skirted around the fact about other players possibly being involved, and there are, but one MLB has in its cross hairs is Cano, just a matter of time. Latroy Hawkins has said there are more players and clinics coming. MLB is proceeding now with who they are confident they can suspend and because this has dragged on for 6 months and the Fans and the public want answers, but this PEDs scandal is on no way over and the Union knows it.

Don't be so sure Mike. In this era of iconic athletes that let us down, aka Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, etc., who's next to take the fall from the highest peak? I'm guessing Jeter, but it could be Mo. A 20-year career as a dominating closer with only one pitch? Yeah, that happens every day. Either he used or he made a pact with the devil. Maybe both.

It must be hard being a Yankees fan these days. The legitimacy of their entire once glorious, now tainted history in question. I actually feel bad for them.

Nothing would surprise me Glen, but we each want to believe some good, exists. They each have 20 years of a career where they appear to have played and lived life as good people and Honest athletes.
The stench and smell though throughout all of sports has been out of control for years, and now with the internet, Iphones, videos, pictures, all we see, it is getting exposed over and over and getting worse. What do we tell our kids? Who do we tell them to be like if they like sports? No easy answers anymore.

MLB's lawsuit not being dropped anytime soon now. One of the places this is going, is to Aces player agency. Only one of the named defendents has not cooperated so far, despite being subpoenaed to do so, a Juan Carlos Nunez. The Judge in the case now has issued a Compel notice for him to do so. He worked for Aces and also had has relationship with the clincs. Aces has about 100 MLB baseball players and I believe around 5 or so of them are getting suspended today. Nunez is the one who built Melkys fake web site to try and cover up where Melky got his PEDS. MLB knows this guy has a lot more information on players involved.

Nelson Cruz has dismissed his player agents, yup, Aces Sports Agnecy. He also will be accepting his suspension as of right now.

Cruz is accepting becuase of Family urging him too and because he/they feel its the right thing to do. Arod now the lone wolf, and MLB may have been waiting for Cruz to agree, so they have a full admission by everyone else. 50-50 Arod plays tonight... Bud may keep him off the field now.

You really think Arod is taking a deal? I can't imagine...and selig won't invoke the 'best for the game' there are too many issues with going that route...arod plays tonight and appeals - probably gets 100 games in about a month. The rest get the 50 game wrist slap that means nada. So MLB proved nothing...except they can create a circus...way to "clean up the game" well done

Well, I hope and I'm sure the clean players feel differently. Major changes coming within 6 months to the JDA, that's one good thing. I think Arod takes a deal before he ever sets foot in an arbitration hearing. Even if he plays tonight, he can cut a deal until that aribtration meeting.

Seems this kid learned from the best- Arod... Enough lies...

When the Seattle Times’ Geoff Baker talked to Montero at the Mariners’ complex in Peoria, Ariz., the morning the Daily News story broke in February , Montero told him he had “no clue” how his name appeared in those documents.

“What can I tell you? I have no idea,” Montero said back then. “Like I said, I have no clue what happened. I feel like I’m caught in the middle of something, and I don’t know why.”

Montero also told the Times he had no knowledge of Anthony Bosch, the founder of the clinic, who ultimately cooperated with baseball’s investigation.

“I don’t even know who he is,” Montero said at the time. “I’ve never heard of him.”

Montero repeated those denials the following week to the Seattle media on the first official day of camp.

“I don’t really know what’s going on,’’ he said that morning. “I didn’t have anything to do with those people. I know my agent’s been handling everything. I don’t know anything about it. I just talked to my family, I told them ‘It’s nothing, don’t worry about.’

“We’re happy. I’m just doing my job over here trying to be ready for spring training and be ready for the season. What can I say? It surprised me too.”

Montero was asked if it was possible the Jesus Montero on the documents was his brother, a catcher in the Cardinals’ farm system also named Jesus Montero.

“No, we don’t have anything to do with that clinic,” he replied.

Later, Montero stated, “I know I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Blindsided- that is laugable.... He is doing the right thing and he listened to his family. Texas better take a hard look at some clinics in thier own backyard, so as not get blindsided again.

Nelson Cruz informed the Texas Rangers on Monday that he will accept his 50-game suspension, a move that stunned Rangers' officials, a person with direct knowledge of the decision told USA TODAY Sports.

Rangers officials were blindsided by the news, only learning of Cruz's decision Monday morning, hours before MLB was set to announce its discipline in the Biogenesis matter

Arod appears to be lone holdout who wants to appeal and is not being announced. Reality has to be setting in with him now, 13 other players all confirmed the evidence is real and the witnesse's are credible. He probably has no idea the information MLB has gotten directly from the players who have cooperated all along. I still think Selig keeps him off the field tonight, but we'll see soon. I hear Arod has cut one attorney out of his team, David Cornwell (I was wrong on this, he added another law firm from NY) . His advisors are telling him to cut a deal. Arod can still get a deal for about 115-150 games. Rumors still of Selig lifetime ban of Arod.

Arod is in big trouble, it appears players have named him as a recruiter.
