Matoes placed on DL

In looking at MLB.com, Baltimore still has not "officially" placed Matos on the DL. STATS cannot do anything until BLT acts first. Dammit. I wanted to make a move as well, but it is not STATS fault I do not think.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

i don't believe matos or d.lee were officially placed on the DL before midnight last night. they need to stay in folks line-ups.

sorry

sorry Midnight? I think we have some more time for the move.

13. Setting Starting Lineups:NFBC owners are allowed to change their starting lineups five minutes before the first game each Monday and that lineup remains intact for the rest of the week. However, owners are also allowed to remove a player (or players) who is officially on the DL from their starting lineup with one of their players from their reserve roster before each Friday's first game as long as the position eligibility works out. Players must officially be on the DL list according to STATS for this move (or moves) to take effect for the weekend games.

Tough to overcome your 1st round pick gone for 2-3 months. OUCH.
The move, yes, you have more time. It is the "Players must officially be on the DL list according to STATS for this move (or moves) to take effect for the weekend games." STATS cannot do it until MLB has made it official. If MLB is not able to get it done prior to 12:01 am Friday Morning, then STATS cannot officially designate a player as "DL" for our purposes (i.e. Friday moves).

Losing your first rounder sucks...Rolen was my first rounder last year...I feel your pain! :(

matos was placed on the dl. yet people cant change the guy out. i think this rule is a terrible idea. leaving it in the hands of someone else to put your player on the dl before a deadline on friday is no good. on monday morning you have the option of gambling if the guy is going to play or not for the week. this way we are at the mercy of someone else. everybody knows matos or d.lee arent going to play this weekend. everyone should be in the same boat. transactions once a week is better.

this from mlb.com

Notes: Matos sent to disabled list.Baltimore also placed Luis Matos on the 15-day disabled list with a sore shoulder, a move that came one day after David Newhan hit the DL with a broken right fibula

rotoworld.com

Wednesday Apr. 19, 2006

Orioles placed outfielder Luis Matos on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 17, with a sore shoulder.

With Matos joining David Newhan on the DL, Corey Patterson and Jeff Conine will get quite a bit more playing time and should again be worth using in AL-only leagues. Matos will probably be back as soon as his 15-day are up. Apr. 19 - 9:41 pm et

plus the ticker on espn news said he was placed on the dl earlier this week wed. night.

This rule needs to go away quickly. Please.

I'm in the Ultimate playing for $40,000 dollars and can't get this **** ball(Matos) out of my line to put in Jim Eddmons. I don't like to complain but this is pretty Dam Crazy. Was anyone able to get him out of thier line up? Is the league going to go back and allow are reserves to play all of this weekends games?

Just a democracy - I , only 1 of 300 plus , but still an important vote - vote against d.l.call-ups because of hit and miss situations when a player goes on d.l. Not allowing D.L. call-ups

is better than the 'sometimes it works' routine.

Funny Baseball note - Best Damn Sports Show says they are cutting open a baseball to see if juiced or what.
This is the important thing for people to realize here. Stats only updates their player DL listing once per day according to what has been posted here before. So, the rule is fine as written as you have until game time to put the player in your active roster on Friday if he had been marked as DL'd by Stats for that day.

If Stats only updates their DL lists once daily - at midnight, I would ask how Lee was moved to the DL on Friday by a team in NY1. Everything I read indicates the Cubs moved him to the DL on Friday and not Thursday.

Damn, I just noticed that the Lee owner in my league also made a Friday move. Now I wonder how many did make this supposedly "impossible" player move.

I wonder where Greg is.

I have D Lee in magazine league 1. I noticed the DL by Lee's name Friday morning and tried to bench him for another player and the system would not allow it. So that league is working as it should.

Don't worry fellow magazine league 1 opponents, I was just testing.
