2014 NFBC Live Draft Dates: March 21-23, 27-30
Re: 2014 NFBC Live Draft Dates: March 21-23, 27-30
I've always considered the live main event my birthday (actually earlier in March). I've very much enjoyed the Chi location and have been afraid for several years now it would just go away. Now it has. Can't blame you. You built it and they just didn't come. At least not in sufficient numbers. Thanks for sticking with it so long. I can say I and many (well not too many) others really enjoyed it. Some will make the pilgramage some will draft online. It just won't be the same. Nothing lasts forever. Enjoy it while you got it. Had a lot of fun over the last few years there and met some cool people in person I never would have met otherwise. Thanks for the memories.

Dave, it was a pleasure meeting you in Chicago. A trip for me that will always produce wonderful memories. It was wonderful meeting and talking with you, 'the other Dave', Russel, and Mike and all the other fellas in the Windy City.Vander wrote:I've always considered the live main event my birthday (actually earlier in March). Great fellas, all.
It was mentioned once on these Boards that Chicago was the 'easiest' venue to draft from. Yet, I don't think one Overall winner came from Chicago because of how well prepared these drafters were. Each league seemed to be so hard fought.
I know you guys were like a family and the draft had a 'family reunion' feel to it.
It is sad to see it go, even for somebody who only experienced it once.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Hey Dan, good to hear from you. I don't get on the message boards as much as I used too. Just saw your reply. Actually the "other Dave" told me it was out there. Very glad you made it out here. It was a pleasure to meet you and your wife. Wish I spent more time talking to both of you. I get kind of caught up with talking to many I only see once a year. Now not even that. Actually 2 winners came from Chi. Bobby Jurney and Terry Haney. Was in both of their leagues when they won it. Sat next to Haney. Both nice guys btw. I think that's where the Chi is easy came from. 2 winners and the fewest # of drafters. I know your heavily preparing already, so good luck next year. The other Dave may make the pilgramige next year. He just won his second league title.
