Greg, Can we get the results of the inputs for the KDDS vs the final draft spots? A link on the main page for download would be fine.

Bump. Greg, I think it would be great if people could compare where they picked to what they ended up with. Than at the end of the season they could see if it really was any thing to worry about. You do have those records???

I think we still have the Excel file for each team's KDS, but I'm not sure if we should make everyone's KDS available for view. Is there a downside to it? Let me hear the reasons first.

I don't see a down side. Draft picks will change year to year based on the player pool. The upside is sharing the information makes it above board and everyone can see if this is really a deciding factor in drafts.

I agree with Walla Walla, strategy changes year to year and going middle early or late all have their advantages and disadvantages (except going 2nd this year and getting Pujolis !)

Greg, How about it? Can you send out the figures.

This post has been here long enough and no one has raised a reason not to release the info. Can we have it?

Greg? How about it? I know your busy pushing it for football but it won't effect it. How about letting everyone see the draft results?

Walla good question.

You mentioned that this may be done in football.

Greg, if I remember correctly over the last two years the NFFC was not filled. How could changing the draft format to this relatively unknown format going to increase entries?

I have the Excel document with everyone's KDS preferences. I'm just not sure how to post it. I'll forward it to STATS and see if they can create a link for it.

All of the draft spots have been posted on the boards, so just grab those from the Las Vegas, New York and Chicago links. Then you'll have everything you need.

Greg, if I remember correctly over the last two years the NFFC was not filled. How could changing the draft format to this relatively unknown format going to increase entries? Well, Jason, the KDS isn't being implemented to attract new users, although I do think fantasy players do want more input in their draft positions. It's designed to eliminate some of the luck factor out of the competition and give you guys a better chance to draft from the spot you'd like. The draft slotting is still done randomly and it's possible you won't gain much of an advantage, but any advantage is better than none.

In baseball, NFBC members drafted from their 4.8 preference, which is better than the 8 preference they would have had if everything was completely random. Some guys had 15 as their first preference, so they didn't want to draft from the first spot. Other owners wanted to draft from the middle. I trust that the preferences will be different for football as the top three spots seem to be more coveted in football than baseball. But again, maybe someone will prefer to draft from the ninth spot with their fourth preference and this allows them to do it.

It's my job to promote the NFFC enough to fill up the 350 spots or we end up paying the guaranteed prizes nonetheless. Trust me, that hasn't been fun over the last two years. But I still feel that we've built a great base and we have a unique contest and in the end we'll fill up all 350 spots. If I was only worried about filling up all of the spots and making money, I'd probably go to a 12-team format for football rather than stay at 14 teams. But again, just like KDS, I think we're creating a better game than the competition and in time our numbers will be just fine. We had 224 teams in 2004 and 280 in 2005. After attracting 330 teams in baseball, I think we can reach 350 in football this year.

Thanks for caring.

thanks for the reply

it is just when I mention the new format to interested future owners they seem to be more skeptical to enter.

I guess it could be chalked up to the fear of the unknown.

thanks again

Jason As Gekko would say, if we can explain FAAB to new owners, we should be able to explain KDS and even BBDS. When you see the KDS format on the game site, it's listed 1 through 14. All you have to do is change that order and pray for a good draft pick when we randomly select the leagues. That can't be all that tough to explain.

But I hear ya. Anything new can be scary. It's my job to better explain this and to show prospective new owners how much fun this 14-team contest can be. I'm excited about the upcoming season and I think we'll continue to grow and maybe even make money this year! :D

Did a quick glance to see how the teams fairing the best ranked the kds spots. Found the 2nd one I looked for missing. Chico's Bail Bonds or am I missing something?
