Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
When can we anticipate our draft spots for this one?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
Greg, it looks like the draft went from Tuesday to "hopefully Wednesday?" Can we at least count on our draft positions soon? I know I'm sounding like an impatient jerk.
Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
It could depend on whether all owners have set their KDS preferences or not yet.Stickman wrote:Greg, it looks like the draft went from Tuesday to "hopefully Wednesday?" Can we at least count on our draft positions soon? I know I'm sounding like an impatient jerk.
But even if the draft order isn't set yet, it would be nice to have the league home page open so we can see each others team names and (potentially) make posts I the league message board.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
Greg or Tom typically will send an email giving us a deadline to set our KDS preferences before spitting out the draft order. I'm guessing here, but it sounds like they still have some work or testing to do on the draft room before we can start. The IT folks probably are off for the weekend. Continuing with my pure speculation, I'm thinking the best we can hope for is the draft room tests well on Monday, we get a Monday night or Tuesday morning KDS deadline, and start drafting Tuesday night. Of course, I can be totally wrong, but no harm in speculating while we itch to start.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
I think they just jumped the gun a bit when they started allowing guys to sign up. They'd probably be best served to take down the "Draft starts when league fills" heading to avoid having several unhappy customers.
Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
I don't think there's any unhappy customers. Everybody knows drafts won't start til next week. Folks are happy to sign up for a draft, knowing there draft is now real instead of just chatter.
Tuesday/Wednesday will come soon enough.
I forgot though, what time was the 'regular' time for drafts to start last year?
Hopefully it is early in the morning!

The early DC they started at AFL went 23 rounds in about 24 hours if I've got my facts straight.
Do the online DCs start off really fast then slow down signicantly once the talent starts to dry up?

Depends on the people. Most drafts go at a steady rate.Deadheadz wrote:The early DC they started at AFL went 23 rounds in about 24 hours if I've got my facts straight.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC $150 Draft Champions 1
A steady pace that usually takes roughly three weeks. Round 1 usually will go fairly quickly if everyone in the league is around for the start, after that things tend to settle into a relatively steady pace. Deadheadz, don't think for a second we'll get 23 rounds, or anything close to that, in 24 hours (not sure if that was what you meant to imply). Personally, I would love that type of speed, but I don't think I've ever seen a "normal" DC draft (without a shorter clock) take less than two weeks. We'll just have to fill any dead time with some decent chat room banter.DOUGHBOYS wrote:Depends on the people. I just want to say one more thing...
Baseball Furies (Mike Massotto) has a lot of posts and there are responses that either make jokes, disagree, or agree, or whatever...doesn't matter...
If he is in a draft with you, count yourself lucky.
Nobody gets a draft going better than Mikey. My advice would be to have him act as the 'facilitator' if sharing a draft with him.
And also encounter him in the message spot. Entertaining, knowledgeable, and funny.
The old guard already knows this, the new folks should know too.
