I'm disappointed in you, Mark.
Number one pick and you're merely 'following the crowd' with Trout.
My childlike faith in your trailblazing nature can never be repaired.

We are now starting round 17 (started last Friday) and most everyone has picked in a timely fashion. However, just thought I'd give anyone reading this a heads up on a VERY slow drafter. His name is Matt Petrich and his team name in this league is Teach Me How To Dougie Glanville. He has averaged at least an hour a pick and today he came within 10 minutes from timing out with the 13th pick of round 16 and now has almost wasted 4 hours of clock with the 3rd pick of round 17. I realize it is Thanksgiving and all but come on! The thing that's most upsetting is that he was literally AWOL all day, makes his pick at the end of the clock and disappears when it was his turn to pick again about 15 minutes after he made his last selection. Gekko and Cheezdawgz pick after him and they always pick in a timely fashion so it wasn't like he was gonna have to wait hours til his next pick.

My condolences. DC League 1, which started last Thursday (one day after your league), currently is in Round 34. (That's how you do it! :D) We've been very fortunate to have great owners. Folks check in on a timely basis. Most owners have exchanged cell numbers and a few owners have been nice enough to send text reminders when folks' turns have been up. Also, many owners use Auto one when tied-up, or at least communicate in advance if they are completely unavailable for some period of time. A great drafting experience so far. Hang in there.

I've heard from Matt and he admits he wasn't aware the league was starting so soon so he wasn't as prepared as he wanted to be.
That being said, these ARE slow drafts so I feel it's okay to be disappointed but not okay to piss all over him like that.
Perhaps you should sign up for a DC Express league.

Matt's a cool guy. Won a league I was in on another site last year. Don't take all newbies lightly.

Cheers!

Not trying to piss all over him, it's just very frustrating when he times out during prime drafting time (from about 10 am to 6 pm) then disappears again before his turn comes up 15 minutes later and delays it another 4 hours. I understand it's a slow draft and things happen sometimes but at least have enough common courtesy to get on and let everyone know what's going on so we know to move on for awhile. It is what it is I guess and I'm done talking about it, I just needed to vent a little, and I will definitely look into the express leagues next time. The problem there is that no one has signed up for any of those yet.

Things a fantasy baseball player positively hates to hear-

1. "You spend more time with your fantasy team than you do with your family!"

2. "Let's go somewhere so you can get away from the computer and phone!"

3. "You spend that much time on fantasy baseball!?"

4. "Get a life!"

5. "Why are you watching this game? It's 10 to nothing!?"

6. "All I know is that they won 6 to 1, I don't know how they scored."

7. "Jason Kipnis broke his leg today. It looked horrible! Wasn't he one of your players?"

8. "Sometimes I think you love fantasy more than you love me!"

9. "One of your players just got a hit, Honey! How many points do you get for that?

10. "These ARE slow drafts."

For those who hate waiting, feel glad you're not in DC 6.

After 26 hours we're about halfway thru round 3.
Of course, much of that was Thanksgiving Day.

Good luck guys.
