I think everyone should declare whether they plan to be a high team, a low team or somewhere in the middle. You guys go first.

Whatever you say, new guy :). In all seriousness though there is a ton of luck involved in being a low team. So much of your success is dictated by what the other low drafters do. The same strategy and even the same players can score very differently depending on how many low teams there are and who is punting what. There is a simplicity in just spending your way to an All-Star team.

I'm sure you are probably talking to Kj but I will give my own answer. I can't see less then 5 teams going high. The chances of cashing top 3 are just so good only competing against a few owners as a high money team that it should be tough to pass up. I'm gonna say 8 low, 2 middling and 5 high

The worst is the high money teams that start off with trout/scherzer/medlen or something so you don't how they will ultimately end up until later. To me, this is a very tough draft to be able to adjust your strategy on the fly. Just kind of have to make your best guess at what the winning approach is and hope you are right enough that you can make up the rest in season.

Historically it has been close to even, averaging 4 x 6 x 5.
Last draft was the most extreme at 5 x 2 x 8.

This draft I will predict 4 x 3 x 8. Great odds at the top, long odds at the bottom.

Longer odds for some of us then others with this field.

PS - it makes perfect sense for EITHER a big money team or a small ball team to acquire hamilton.

big money team - money is no object so even though acquiring hamilton will initially hurt your hr/rbi, you have more than enough $$$ to buy your way to the championship. if there was ever a year for a big money team to sweep evry category (and win the MOY money as well), this is the year. having a guy who can get you 100 sb allows you to use your valuable early draft picks filling other holes.

small money team - if a punt hr/rbi team acquires him, its really like getting two ellsbury's for the price of $5. any other teams employing the ultra high sb game plan will be at a very bad disadvantage. they will need to use 3 early draft picks just to get the sb that hamilton provides, while the hamilton owner loads up on pitching

I've been asked a lot by e-mail, so I'll just post it here....

An 1/8 of an ounce of the stuff goes for $75.
$75!
It made me think how much folks are buying this stuff for illegally!
That's 5 Maya's!
20 bags of 'Party Doritos'!
The cost of getting high would make me feel low. I couldn't enjoy it

A well-selected bottle of red wine for a third of the price would make you feel a lot better. Buy the value, sell the hype.

There are also limo companies advertising for rides around town while customers get high in their cars.
There are motels/hotels who have non-smoking, smoking cigarettes, and smoking weed rooms.
A Bed and Breakfast offered up a 'weed room' for after meals.
The whole thing is amusing.

The first day of sales went into the millions. Lines still form at the 'pot shops'.

As long as the high money hamilton team can get to 200 league points I like their MoY chances. Two elsburys....:)

My prediction is Hamilton will be taken by a low money team as one of the top 10 picks.

If a high money team scores 150 league points, they win the MOY money as well. Hamilton makes this dream possible for a big money franchise. It's called the Sweep Rule

I know I wasn't the one asked, but this is the way I see the breakdown:

The Definite George Steinbrenner teams:
- Fleming
- Greenberg/Dobies
- Matt Anderson

The Definite Billy Beane teams:
- Rog/Doughy
- Rockit
- Childs
- Shovein
- Fearon
- Lowy

The Wildcards (with my guess in parenthesis on where they'll fall):
- KJ (Steinbrenner)
- Pucci (Middle of the pack)
- Cohan (Middle of the pack)
- Pausma/Gekko (Beane)
- Norred (Beane)
- Weber (Beane)

I'll have a Pittsburgh payroll, so it looks like the top three are virtually guaranteed money while 10 battle for MOY ... at least until round 3 when Lowy runs out of $5 dollar players he likes and decides to spend a $180.
