I asked that they put the same warning if someone nominates Francisco Liriano.
Thanks for checking on that, Todd, and for arranging the walk-through session. It was very helpful.

I don't get on the boards too often either with 3 little ones now... I missed out on this practice auction.

Anyway we can do one more next week? I draft on feb 19th and would like to test out the interface before the 19th.

I've got the mixed LABR draft on the 11th so we'll probably do 12th and 13th

Sounds good. I'll check this thread daily and make sure I join in on the 12th or 13th.

For anyone who already went into a mock at RTS, you can go back into the same mock and play some more as long as the draft didn't complete.

As soon as all non-robot bidders leave the auction it is suspended and doesn't start up again until a human rnters the room. Good for practicing while not looking goofy to the others mocking.

You still have to wait for the robot bids and clock countdowns.

I've spent a little bit of time the past few days reading about auction strategies. One of the interesting concepts is "sabotage". I will be employing this strategy tonight, perhaps right from the get go. Good luck

Be careful bidding up players you don't really want. I ended up with a couple that way in 2013.

Curious, will you play Beastie Boys "Sabotage" on a loop during the auction too? lame in real life but that's how I picture the TV version of this auction.

Unfortunately I have run into a conflict for tonight's auction, so if Edelman wants my spot, let me know.

Sabotage has nothing to do with bidding on players

We have to pay NFBC before the RTS auction starts, right?

Don't want to see this great idea get torpedoed by someone getting upset after the auction and refusing to pay.
Not that I'd expect anyone to do that but who knows? Better safe than sorry.

No.
Your scenario could very well happen. I don't know.
I have confidence that it won't.
But credit cards will be run and the snake portion of the draft will be set up after the auction.

I really don't think anyone involved in these auctions are going to ruin their reputations and any remaining credibility by shirking a $125 charge because they don't like their auction team. Still, after Deadheadz corners the market for catchers and/or shortstops and Mark "brings the pain" and sabotages my team, I don't know what I'll do ....

No point trying to corner the market when the auction has no bench. Once the snake starts though...watch out!

Btw, have we determined the snake order yet? What date and time does the snake begin? Is it 1pm as with the DCs?

No idea on when the snake begins. If I had to guess, there probably will be some break between the end of the auction tonight and the start of the snake draft because the NFBC presumably will have to load up the first 23 slots in our rosters based on the auction results.

The ball is in Greg and STATS court once the auction has concluded.
I've sent him the list of drafters in the auction. Todd will send him the results after the auction.

Two items --
1) Greg/Tom - I am submitting a check to the NFBC (as always) for tonight's and next week's auction drafts.

2) I just went on to RT Sports and didn't find the room for our auction - Any idea why? Maybe they won't bring it back until nearer to draft time? Dont' want any complications later on......

Since I've seen some theme songs tossed around I guess I better have one for myself -- let's go with MONEY by Pink Floyd

Not that I expect to cash against some of the legends in this league - but you never know....

Legend in my own mind.

Figured I should say it before someone else accused me of it first.

Where are you looking, under the list of mocks or your RTS home page?

It should be on your RTSports home page. You'll need to be logged into see it
