I'm In Las Vegas And It's 84 Degrees

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Mar 16, 2004 12:07 pm

You know it's going to be a good week when the first two pieces of luggage that come off at baggage claim ARE YOURS!!! That's never happened before, so it's a good sign.

Once in my rental car, I turned on the radio and they said it almost was a record high today, just missing at 84 degrees. I hate when that happens!!! It's supposed to be mid-80s right up until Draft Day.

Okay, every time I called the office from the road I heard about these wild posts on the Message Boards. Give me an hour to check all my e-mail and those wild posts and then I'll set up a live chat for everyone to vent. I just want everyone to know that you've trusted me up to this point, so why should today be any different. Hold tight on all these worst case scenarios and let me explain my plans.

Had I not been to the hospital the last two nights, we would have had this 13th league situation settled by now and nobody would have complained. As it is, I stayed as long as I could last night and failed to get everything done before I left this morning. Thus we don't have leagues 12 and 13 picked or posted yet. But settle down as it will get done. The least you guys can do is give me the benefit of the doubt and realize that I had to stay with my daughter last night before departing for a week. I'll take all the blame if that makes anyone feel better.

Rocky worked the phones today and we'll have 13 leagues filled soon and we'll announce the draft order of Las Vegas Leagues 12 and 13 before midnight tonight. That will be just 36 hours later than the other picks were announced, so nobody is getting an unfair advantage. And I know every name of the people in Leagues 12 and 13 and there will no be unfair advantage for anyone. Both are VERY competitive and neither will have an advantage or a disadvantage.

Just to answer one question: Why didn't you just put the last 15 guys in League 12 and then fill up League 13 with the last 15 signups? The obvious reason was to avoid any collusion if five buddies suddenly signed up for League 13 at the last minute. The last 30 signups have been mixed together so that nobody had any idea if they were getting in with a friend or not. That's why I held off one day with announcing League 12 and now I'm glad I did.

There will be no repicking of leagues as this has worked out perfectly and we'll get this done right. I just need to make some phone calls, check some e-mails and verify the commitments. I will take a live chat before announcing any of the picks for the last two leagues so that everyone has a chance to air their concerns.

Now let me order an MGD from room service and I'll be back online at 8 p.m. EST.
