KDS Deadline For First Weekend Mains: March 16th

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Mar 07, 2014 2:54 pm

It's hard to believe, but it's time to start preparing for our live events on the First Weekend. That's right, Draft Day is just two short weeks away!! :D

In all of our leagues we allow you to tell us where you'd like to draft from and thus we allow you to set your preferences in a format we call KDS (short for Kentucky Derby System). To do that you have to:

** Click on your team link

** On the first page you'll see rankings from 1-12 or 1-15 and then click on Edit Preferences

** Now move the hangars around in the order that you would prefer to draft. If you want 1,2,3,4 in that order, leave those four hangars lined up that way. Then if you want 8 next, put 8 where 5 was. Keep moving them around to the way you like them and with any luck you'll get one of your top preferences. We randomly let the computer pick the selection order of each league and then our computer slots you according to your highest preference at the time your selection is up.

** We will announce all draft picks prior to the draft via email, but also on your team page. In fact, it will appear on your team page as soon as the computer processes KDS for each individual league.

In the past, we tried to get draft picks to everyone as soon as possible and we set KDS deadlines several days before we ran KDS. In recent years, however, we've sold out many online leagues days or even hours before the drafts started and everyone has adjusted accordingly. Now folks are asking for even less time between the KDS deadline and Draft Day for our live events so that they can process as much spring training information as possible and we agree. We are going to give everyone a few more days this year to set their KDS preferences and shorten the window between when you get draft spots and Draft Day. I know some folks want more time to prepare, but we think that allowing you more time to process what is going on in spring training is just as critical.

So here's our First Weekend KDS deadlines and we'll post this on your Team Pages as well:

NFBC Main Events on Saturday, March 22nd:
KDS Deadline: Sunday, March 16th, Noon ET
Draft Spots Announced Monday, March 17th

NFBC Primetime on Friday, March 21-22-23

Draft Spots Announced Monday, March 17th

NFBC Auction Championships on Friday, March 21, Sunday, March 23
KDS Deadline: Friday, March 14th, Noon ET
Draft Spots Announced Friday, March 14th

NFBC New York MTM Super League, Friday, March 21st
Draft Spots are picked Live in New York City on the night of the draft

Ultimate League Online, Monday, March 24th
KDS Deadline: Monday, March 17th, Noon ET
Draft Spots Announced Tuesday, March 18th

NFBC Super League Online, Tuesday, March 25th
KDS Deadline: Tuesday, March 18th, Noon ET
Draft Spots Announced Wednesday, March 19th

NFBC Primetime Online, Tuesday, March 25th
KDS Deadline: Tuesday, March 18th, Noon ET
Draft Spots Announced Wednesday, March 19th

That should get us through the First Weekend of action and should keep us consistent for the different formats. We'll update a similar plan for the Second Weekend events shortly. Thanks all and good luck.

Greg.

With KDS due 9 days from now will you be mixing and matching (as well as pushing) the 12 Team Prime? It seems as though there are many partially leagues. Thanks.

We have all 5 First Weekend Auction Championship leagues full right now and we'll run credit cards for all today. Since all leagues are already formed with 15 participants, there's no mixing and matching here and we can assign seats now. Let's get these leagues set on your team pages today and seat order announced today. Set your KDS preferences for this one if you haven't done so already. Thanks all and look for that today.

KDS deadline is still this weekend for the Mains and Primetimes. Thanks all and let's fill up these final leagues.
