If so, I would hope the last couple DCs are in the mid 20 rounds by now. If not, you may want to lower the clock down to 6 or 4 hours right now.

Correct. I'll ask about that one and it's possible that all lineups will have to start with Monday and be retroactive as we won't be done before Sunday night's game. I'll ask on that, but we'll all be on the same page before that.Quahogs wrote:It seems the Sunday 4pm PST Ult Auction will be the exception here? I know you have midweek 3pm OCs in the final drafting week but is there a chance of a midweek daytime OC next week one day?

I'm planning one more OC. I'll check my schedule and see if I can help fill that league, Matt.

What happens if OC leagues next week don't fill?
My partner and I are currently in one of the Tuesday, March 18 leagues that appears to have only two teams registered and that is one of the last days we can draft together.
Maybe we will have to get into Matt's league on Wednesday .....

We email people if leagues may not sell out and give them other dates to switch to if possible. If you want to switch at any time just email me and I'll get that done for you.Captain Hook wrote:What happens if OC leagues next week don't fill?

In all fairness to the myriad of DC drafters who have already completed their drafts, I agree that these drafts should be wrapped up by the first game.Gekko wrote:With the season starting in 10 days, how far along are the last couple DC leagues? If so, I would hope the last couple DCs are in the mid 20 rounds by now. If not, you may want to lower the clock down to 6 or 4 hours right now.
If middle reliever, Joe Schmo, wins a game for the Dodgers over Arizona or Arizona over the Dodgers, it could open the door for a lot of squawking...

To do what you're saying above we would have had to shut down all Draft Champions Leagues 8 days earlier and shut off all Online Championship Leagues with 8 days left. Is that really what everyone wanted because Joe Schmo could get an extra win? We've done it this way when MLB teams opened in Japan, so what we're doing now isn't unprecedented. But I'd hate to cut off all of these drafts 8 days early because of two stupid games on the other side of the world.

It's looking like we still need 2 owners. We have one veteran owner interested, so that's a start, but we definitely need at least one more owner from the wilderness.ToddZ wrote:How's the AL only auction looking?

Your welcome, Greg. I was nervous but it was fun and you guys put me at ease.
I wasn't including the online championships, just the Draft Championships.
Online Championship drafters can have a choice of choosing before or after those games. Thousands of Draft Championship drafters don't get that choice.
If Joe Schmo wins a game and is taken in the 50th round by 3 drafters who are still drafting, it would be not be fair to the previous 200 (?) leagues.

Agree with this 100%! Just 1 win in last years Draft Champions overall contest was worth around 30-40 pts. 11 of the top 20 spots in the overall were decided by this margin, including 1st and 2nd place. So that 1 win could have been worth $16,000. If I am on the clock and I see that a middle reliever who ordinarily wouldnt get drafted, gets the win, he is my clear next choice if we are after 40 rounds.
I dont think it would be out of bounds to mandate all leagues be done in 9 days. They started almost a week ago and would have had 2 weeks to finish their draft.
Re: Q&A or Just B.S. With Greg & Tom Here
I'm going to throw this idea out there even though it probably won't fly.
How about for anyone still drafting a DC after the Dodgers-DBacks games are played to not be allowed to draft the winning pitchers in those games unless they have been previously drafted in a prior DC league. Because it's a placeholder, it could be enforced and the drafters asked to make another pick. Of course, this would need to be communicated to uncompleted DC drafts, but just an idea.
This would allow for the chris perez's and deep selections like that to still be drafted and be just as lucky as the ones that got the players before results, but not the obscure pitcher who would never be drafted in a DC league.
